LTA Fantasy Split 3 is about to launch with a slate of quality-of-life updates aimed at making roster construction more strategic and leagues more engaging. The headline additions are a Team Diversity Bonus, several enhanced scoring mechanics, and fresh league-management tools. Before jumping in the news that are coming, make sure to read our complete guide on the LTA Fantasy we already published.

Market & Registration Window for LTA Fantasy Split 3

The player market opens today (July 23rd) 2PM PT and, starting next week, will open every Tuesday at 2 PM PT and remains unlocked until Saturday at 9 AM PT, just before LTA matches begin. This gives managers plenty of time each week to buy, sell, and fine-tune their line-ups.

1. Team Diversity Bonus

The most significant change in this LTA Fantasy Split 3 addresses the lack of team variety observed in Split 2, where top-scoring lineups were predominantly composed of players from a single team. To encourage more diverse lineup construction, LTA Fantasy now grants bonuses based on team diversity:

  • Players from 5 Different Teams: +20%
  • Players from 4 Different Teams: +15%
  • Players from 3 Different Teams: +10%
  • Players from 2 Different Teams: +5%
  • Players from 1 Team Only: No bonus

This change is designed not to increase overall scores but to balance different playstyles, as it will still be possible to choose players from just one team and continue scoring competitively.

2. Enhanced Scoring System

Win Against Picked Opponent Bonus

During the Pick and Play Phase when opponent selection is available, players receive +2 points per game if their team defeats an opponent they chose to face. This bonus is awarded individually for each win, not just at the end of the series, adding strategic depth to opponent selection.

Gold Advantage Bonus

A new scoring mechanic rewards early game performance. At the 14-minute mark of each match, players who are ahead of their lane opponent receive a bonus calculated using the formula: Gold Advantage at 14 Minutes × 0.001. For example, a player with a 500 gold advantage receives 0.5 bonus points.

Objective Steal Bonuses

The system now rewards clutch objective steals with the following points:

  • Baron Steal: +4 Points
  • Elder Dragon Steal: +4 Points
  • Dragon Steal: +2 Points
  • Rift Herald Steal: +2 Points
  • Atakhan Steal: +3 Points

Continuous vs Limited Scoring

The main new league feature allows players to choose between two scoring formats:

  • Continuous mode: A player's league score is the sum of all their scores throughout the Stage
  • Limited mode: The score starts counting from when the player joins the League

3. League Customization Options available in LTA Fantasy Split 3

League creators now have enhanced customization capabilities:

  • League Description (up to 250 characters)
  • Option to rename the League
  • Option to delete the League

4. User Experience Enhancements

Market Improvements

  • "Sell All Players" button in the Market to make switching between rounds easier
  • Users can now change their Favorite Team once per Stage, before the Round 1 Market closes
  • Updated player view in the Market for better navigation

Homepage Features

  • The "Dream Team of the Week" will always be displayed on the Home Page
  • Top scores of the week will appear on the Home Page

Player Substitution System

To simplify the user experience when teams rotate players or make surprise substitutions, LTA Fantasy uses a fixed replacement system instead of a bench system. If a selected player is substituted in a specific round, their score equals that of their substitute, while their price remains unchanged since they haven't played any matches in that round.

Strategic Takeaways for LTA Fantasy Split 3

Split 3’s new Team Diversity Bonus encourages building line-ups from multiple teams, offering up to a 20% score increase for selecting players across five different rosters. This changes the previous focus on stacking a single dominant team, instead rewarding balanced and well-researched squads that capitalize on varied matchups and underdog potential. Additionally, the introduction of bonuses for early-game gold leads and objective steals elevates the value of aggressive, playmaking junglers and laners who can secure early advantages and clutch plays, making early performance and in-game impact more critical than before.

Managers must also carefully consider weekly matchups, especially during “Pick & Play” phases where points are gained for defeating selected opponents, adding a layer of strategic forecasting to fantasy decisions. Being aware of roster changes, substitutions, and league mode settings (continuous versus limited scoring) can provide competitive edges. Ultimately, Split 3 rewards adaptability and deep analysis of team dynamics and schedules, pushing fantasy players to move beyond star power and focus on smart, flexible roster construction to maximize points.

Ready to Dominate LTA Fantasy Split 3?

With fresh mechanics, strategic scoring updates, and a greater emphasis on roster variety, LTA Fantasy Split 3 is shaping up to be the most competitive and engaging split yet. Whether you're aiming for leaderboard glory or just playing with friends, success will come down to smart lineup planning, careful matchup analysis, and adapting quickly to the evolving landscape of the league. With the new tools and bonuses in place, every decision (from your player picks to your league settings) matters more than ever.
