League of Legends Worlds 2025 Dates and Host Cities in China Announced

As reported last year, League of Legends will be heading to China in 2025 for the annual World Championship (Worlds). Set to run from October 14th to November 9th, the tournament will once again tour around the host country as teams run through the gauntlet of stages.

Worlds 2025 Set For China: Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu To Host

17 teams will be in attendance this year; a contrast to 20 last year. The 5 major leagues will all be attendance: LCK, LPL, LTA, LEC, and LCP are each granted a base seed count of 3. The LCK and LPL, meanwhile, earned an additional seed for their regions thanks to Anyone Legend's and Gen.G’s performances at MSI 2025.

The dates for each stage of Worlds 2025 will look as follows:

Play-In: October 14th
Swiss Stage: October 15th-25th
Knockout Stage: October 28th- November 2nd
Grand Finals: November 9th

Play-In and Swiss Stages – Beijing Smart Esports Center, Beijing

Beijing will be the first port of call, with the 4th seeds from the LCK and the LPL battling for immediate survival and qualification into the rest of the tournament. The remaining 16 teams will then collect into the widely popular Swiss Stage along with the thrills and storylines that develop with it.

Knockout Stage – Mercedes-Benz Arena, Shanghai

The surviving 8 teams from the Swiss Stage will then make their way into the Knockout Stage in Shanghai, battling for their shot at the Grand Finals and the elusive Worlds crown. Single-elimination, all Bo5s, absolute peak League of Legends.

Grand Finals – Dong’an Lake Sports Park Multifunctional Gymnasium, Chengdu

For the final standoff between the remaining 2 teams, Chengdu will play the role of final arena, serving as the fitting backdrop for the final showdown of the League of Legends 2025 season.
