Former Major winner Stewie2K has locked in his organization-less Counter-Strike 2 project, Without a Roof, confirming a permanent starting five alongside a new coaching addition.

The tag, originally born when Obey Alliance cut ties with its roster back in March 2016, has been revived over a decade later under Stewie2K's leadership, with Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte the only player carried over from the original lineup.

CeRq and FaNg Cement their Spots

According to Dust2.us, which confirmed the news with WaR manager Danan "Danan" Flander, the team has settled on its final core after cycling through several combinations.

Justin "FaNg" Coakley has claimed a permanent starting role, while former Evil Geniuses AWPer Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov steps in for Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham, whose reasons for departing remain unconfirmed.

Danan did note CeRq is already back in the United States and expected to compete with WaR at FRAG Midwest: St. Louis.

Steel Steps into Coaching

Joshua "steel" Nissan, who had previously stood in for the team, now joins as coach in his first full-time role after long flirting with the position. The veteran Canadian IGL's most recent playing stint with SportsBetExpert ended abruptly when the org decided to cut him loose.

Steel's road back to relevance has been a long one. In 2015, he was permanently banned from competing in or being involved with Valve-associated events due to his role in the North American match-fixing scandal, a saga that sidelined several prominent players of that era.

That ban was only officially lifted on January 29th, 2025, clearing the way for his eventual return to the scene and, now, this coaching role with Without a Roof.

The finalized roster now consists of:

Dominant Start In ESEA Open

Without a Roof currently lead ESEA Open9-10 Season 58 at a perfect 9-0, a stat line that underscores just how overqualified this roster is for the division. They face UncsStillGotIt on August 12th as they look to keep the streak alive.

With a stacked roster and a cleared coaching path for steel, Without a Roof look poised to turn Stewie2K’s second-chance project into a genuine CS2 story worth following.
