After 7 years without winning a single Counter-Strike title, Team Liquid has finally won a tournament.

At the 2026 edition of fl0m’s Mythical LAN, Team Liquid absolutely dominated every other North American peer, winning the event without dropping a single map.

Team Liquid Wins!?

Hosted by fl0m, the iBUYPOWER Masters FML featured the biggest names in the Americas region, including NRG, M80, DENDELE CS, and more.

Team Liquid’s journey at the event started in Group A, alongside M80, NRG, and Chicken Coop. To qualify for the Playoffs, they took down Chicken Coop 2-0 and followed it up with a win over NRG.

In the semifinals, Team Liquid swept M80. While the first game was close, Team Liquid dominated the rest of the series to secure the Grand Finals.

Wildcard, unfortunately, was no competition for Team Liquid. In the two maps, Liquid limited their opponent to single-digit rounds. Ultimately, they won the tournament without dropping a single map.

Seven-year Drought Comes to an End

The win at iBUYPOWER Masters fl0m’s Mythical LAN ends a seven-year LAN drought. Their previous win was the IEM Chicago back in July 2019, in a different era of the game altogether.

Since the win, Team Liquid’s struggles have continued to worsen. Despite making numerous changes, they have failed to secure a LAN win, coming close a few times but failing to close it out.

The win at FML, despite it being an Americas LAN, is a massive deal for Team Liquid as it helps them gain momentum for the tournaments to come.

Not to mention, Liquid was struggling against much weaker opponents, and a tournament win against premier organizations in a dominant fashion puts them in a really good spot for the future.

Team Liquid will play Stake Pulse Beat III, another tier 2 event, before attending PGL Masters Bucharest 2026, which will be their real test.
