It is impossible to think of professional Starcraft 2 without thinking about the greatest casting duo esports has birthed. Tasteless and Artosis have casted Starcraft together for so many years that no other casting duo that have achieved a greater synergy than these two gentlemen have. A synergy so great that they are often named as the casting Archon of Starcraft 2, since they are so in tune with each other during their casts; they basically become one shared conscience together. Ever since moving to Korea back in 2009 this duo has been the voice of English coverage for Korean Starcraft, but with Artosis moving back to Canada this era has finally come to an end.

A journey through time

The moment that this casting duo was born was all the way back in 2005, during the World Cyber Games in the United States. Both Artosis and Tasteless participated as Starcraft: Brood War players in this event, and as Tasteless felt that the casters didn't know enough about the game, he volunteered to cast himself when he was already eliminated from the tournament. As time went on, Tasteless got more and more into casting, while Artosis tried being a professional player for a little while longer. Eventually however, the duo would move to South Korea and become the official english broadcaster for GOM TV. They casted Starcraft 2 of the highest level together ever since, and have commented on all the greatest moments of Starcraft history, only to become part of that history themselves.

Tears flowed

As Maru took his 5th GSL title ever, everybody knew that they were witnessing something special. It was like a celebration of the history of Starcraft 2 to see a legend like Maru win the grand prize, on the night that the Tastosis' legacy would end. Therefore it shouldn't be a surprise that as the duo were signing off for the night, there were tears flowing from the side of Artosis. He could be nothing but grateful to be granted the opportunities he and Tasteless received, and the amazing support the Starcraft 2 community gave them over the years.

They will always be remembered as the one and only, Esports Casting Archon.
