G2 x One Piece: What to Expect

The new G2 l One Piece collection draws its creative direction from Gear 5 Monkey D. Luffy, the manga's protagonist and the embodiment of boundless ambition that is reflected in G2's 12-year-long journey through esports.

Rather than leaning into flashy, logo-heavy fan merchandise, G2 has taken a more restrained approach. The pieces are rendered in black and white with minimalist embroidery, making them wearable well beyond convention floors or gaming chairs. The standout design element is a custom "Jolly Roger" that blends G2's samurai emblem with Luffy's iconic straw hat, which is meant to serve as a recognizable nod to both universes.

The capsule includes hoodies, zip-ups, t-shirts, caps, arm sleeves, and tote bags. It's the kind of lineup designed for everyday wear, not just event-day flexing. The collection is available for purchase exclusively through G2 Esports' online shop starting June 25.

An Anime Giant in the Esports Sphere

One Piece is nothing short of a cultural phenomenon. The manga, created by Eiichiro Oda in 1997, has sold more than 600 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling manga series ever published.

Its anime adaptation, meanwhile, has been running since 1999 and has surpassed 1,160 episodes, numbers that put it firmly in the conversation among the most-watched animated series in history.

For G2, this marks the esports organization's second anime apparel collaboration, following a well-received partnership with Solo Leveling. The organization has been consistently expanding its cultural footprint in recent years, picking up partnerships with Ralph Lauren and Smiley, launching its own webtoon called Red Aura, and even venturing into traditional sports through the Kings League.

“At G2, we’re continuing to push the culture and fashion of esports beyond competition alone, and this One Piece collection is a natural extension of that. We wanted to create a capsule that continues to elevate the esports fashion space - understated, premium, and stylish enough for everyday wear, while still carrying the spirit of adventure, ambition, and individuality that defines One Piece and G2 alike." — Sabrina Ratih, COO of G2 Esports

Whether you're a longtime fan of the Straw Hat Crew or just looking for clean, minimal streetwear, the collection is certainly worth a look.
