Some partnerships are simply meant to last, and Team Vitality just proved it again. Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut and Dan "apEX" Madesclaire have both signed fresh contract extensions that will keep them in Vitality colors through the end of 2028, the French organization confirmed with a video announcement carrying a fitting slogan: "When legacy becomes legendary."

The new deals replace agreements that were set to run out at the end of 2026, giving both players two extra years of security and giving Vitality the peace of mind that its two most important pieces aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

It's not a small gesture either. ZywOo and apEX have been the backbone of this roster since Vitality entered Counter-Strike back in October 2018, and neither has ever worn another jersey in the CS2 era.

ZywOo-apEX: Nearly a Decade of Dominance

Numbers don't lie, and these two have piled up plenty of them. Together, ZywOo and apEX have helped Vitality lift three Major trophies and two ESL Pro League Grand Slams, cementing the org as one of the most successful in the game's history.

ZywOo, still widely regarded as the best player on the planet, already holds three Major MVP awards, a feat no one else in CS history can claim. apEX, meanwhile, has quietly built one of the most decorated resumes in the sport, sitting at the very top of the all-time trophy count among active players.

What makes this extension stand out is the timeline. Should apEX ride it out to 2028, he'll be closing in on 37 years of age and marking a full decade with the organization, an almost unheard of stretch of loyalty in a scene known for constant roster shuffles.

ZywOo, for his part, would hit ten years with Vitality as well, having joined as a teenager and grown into the face of the entire discipline.
