Team Vitality and 11 other leading French esports organizations have officially launched the French Union of Professional Esports Clubs (UFCEP). This landmark initiative aims to enhance the recognition, development, and structuring of the esports sector in France, giving clubs and fans a unified voice in shaping the industry’s future.

A Unified Voice for French Esports

France has long been a key player in the global esports scene, hosting major international tournaments and producing world-class talent. However, with the industry’s rapid growth, challenges such as legal frameworks, player welfare, and club sustainability have emerged.

UFCEP’s mission is to address these concerns by working with tournament organizers, publishers, and government bodies to create a more structured and sustainable esports ecosystem.

The union embraces an open and inclusive model, allowing any esports organization that meets eligibility criteria to join. This ensures that all professional esports clubs, regardless of size or reputation, have representation and can contribute to shaping the industry’s future.

Leadership and Structure

The UFCEP will be governed by a Steering Committee, with key figures from some of France’s biggest esports organizations leading the charge:

Additionally, several other notable figures will serve in advisory roles:

These leaders will act as key representatives in discussions with government institutions, tournament organizers, and publishers, advocating for policies that benefit players, clubs, and the broader esports community.

Strengthening France’s Esports Ecosystem

One of UFCEP’s primary objectives is to solidify France’s position as a global esports hub. This includes:

  • Supporting talent development: Implementing structured training programs that allow players to balance education and their esports careers.
  • Establishing legal frameworks: Simplifying visa processes for player transfers and ensuring clear regulations for club operations.
  • Protecting player welfare: Addressing issues such as cyberbullying, mental health concerns, and career sustainability.

By tackling these challenges, UFCEP aims to provide a stable and supportive environment for players and organizations, ensuring esports remains a viable career path for future generations.

UFCEP’s Founding Organizations

The union brings together 12 major esports clubs, spanning a variety of game titles and competitive scenes:

With such a diverse and influential lineup, UFCEP is well-positioned to shape the future of French and international esports.

France’s Growing Role in Global Esports

With a passionate and growing esports fanbase, France continues to attract major international tournaments. In 2025, the country will host:

  • VALORANT Champions
  • Rocket League World Championship
  • Evolution Championship Series (EVO)
  • Fortnite Global Championship
  • TFT Open Qualifier

These events will provide a platform for UFCEP to collaborate with tournament organizers and governing bodies, ensuring that France remains a key destination for global esports.

Looking Ahead: A Sustainable Future for Esports in France

The formation of UFCEP marks a crucial step toward professionalizing and legitimizing the esports industry in France. By working alongside key stakeholders, the union is set to strengthen legal structures, enhance player welfare, and promote the long-term sustainability of esports clubs.

With a strong leadership team, a growing fanbase, and an ambitious vision, UFCEP is poised to make a lasting impact—not just in France, but across the global esports landscape.
