The Rocket League Championship Series Fall Opens are already underway across a number of regions, with more starting in the next few days. Teams will be fighting it out to earn enough RLCS Circuit Points to qualify for the world championships next August and fans are in for a really wild ride.

The Fall Opens are the first opportunity this season for teams show what they’re made of. They’ve been practising since the previous world tournament and are finally ready to compete again! There are seven regions full of the top Rocket League teams in the world competing and only 16 places in total for them to fight for.

Who to keep up with - the top teams in the world

To know who to look out for this year, fans may wish to begin at the 2021-2022 Worlds. There was a hugely competitive tournament in Fort Worth that had some truly nail biting games! Here, EU org Team BDS took the crown as well as the $600,000 prize fund. They took a decisive  4-1 victory over favorites G2 Esports in the grand finals and cemented their place in Rocket League history.

But the EU isn’t the only region to keep your eyes on. North America has some amazing teams on offer too. And, while the EU Fall Open has yet to begin, NA has already concluded. Household names such as FaZE Clan and G2 put in a great showing but there were a couple of turn ups too in the form of Gen.G Mobil1 Racing and Spacestation Gaming, who placed in the top 4.

It’s also worth remembering that while the World Championships are often dominated by the American and European regions, Rocket League also has Middle Eastern, African and  Asia-Pacific tournaments that are neglected in other esports. As the game grows, keeping up with teams from across the regions is a surefire way to make sure fans can make the most of every tournament.

Only the beginning

With so much Rocket League still left to come, it’s hard to predict who will come out on top for this season. Rocket League is more of an ever changing esport than many other games and there are no guarantees about which team will win.

After the Fall Open, teams will still need to compete in both winter and spring events too so there’s plenty of time for those who don’t place as high as they would have liked this time round.
