League of Legends Players to Compete for Medals at the 2026 CAC Games

More than 15 years after its release, League of Legends continues to expand and reach new horizons. When it comes to LoL Esports specifically, there seems to be no slowing down. The latest development? League of Legends is set to be included in the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games (CACG), giving players a chance to compete for medals as they represent their home countries.

Esports Make It to the CAC Games 2026

According to official documents available on the website for the competition, this year's CAC Games will include several esports competition. Among these you will find League of Legends, but also games like Just Dance, eFootball, and Street Figher 6.

The 2026 CAC Games will be hosted in Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic, between July 24 and August 8. When it comes to League of Legends, a total of 32 nations will be allowed to compete in the qualifiers for a chance to make into this year's CAC Games and compete to come away with one of their coveted medals.

Wondering what the competition itself will look like? Here's a look at what the League of Legends CAC Games 2026 competition will look like:

  • 6 total nations will compete in the main event (one of these will be the host country of the Dominican Republic)
  • Group Stage will be Bo1
  • Final Stage will be Bo3
  • Top three teams will earn a Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal, respectively

Ultimately, the inclusion of League of Legends to the 2026 CAC Games is a big win not just for Riot Games, but for esports everywhere.
