K/DA released "FIRESTARTER" on Sunday, October 18, marking the group's return after nearly six years without new music. The virtual League of Legends group is back with MIYEON and SOYEON of i-dle, joined by Sophie Powers and Mimi Webb. The new track comes with an official music video and ends a release hiatus dating back to the "ALL OUT" EP in November 2020.
The lyrics of "FIRESTARTER" combine English and Korean, using fire as the song's central metaphor. The track explores confidence, intensity, and the idea of sparking change, with the performers portraying themselves as the ones who ignite the flames.
The chorus reinforces that theme with the phrase "I'm a firestarter," while the lyrics also reference chaos, energy, and the determination to keep pushing forward.
Who Sings FIRESTARTER, K/DA's New Song?
"FIRESTARTER" is performed by MIYEON and SOYEON of South Korean group i-dle, alongside Sophie Powers and Mimi Webb. All four artists are credited in Riot Games' official release.
MIYEON and SOYEON are already familiar to K/DA fans. Both were part of the group's 2018 debut, providing the vocals for Ahri and Akali, respectively, on "POP/STARS."
Sophie Powers and Mimi Webb are the new additions to this lineup. K/DA has featured several other artists throughout its history, including Madison Beer, Jaira Burns, Bea Miller, Wolftyla, and Lexie Liu.
Will K/DA Get New Skins in League of Legends?
Riot Games has not officially announced a new K/DA skin collection for League of Legends. However, the group's musical comeback has raised expectations that Ahri, Akali, Evelynn, and Kai'Sa could receive new looks.
There is some precedent for that possibility. Both the release of "POP/STARS" in 2018 and the "ALL OUT" project in 2020 were accompanied by themed skin collections in League of Legends.
Given K/DA's popularity among players and Riot's investment in the group's return, another skin collection would be a possible extension of the campaign. However, Riot has not confirmed which champions might receive skins, their prices, or a potential release date.
Riot Games Has Also Brought Back Other Virtual Music Groups
The release of "FIRESTARTER" follows a series of musical comebacks from Riot Games in 2026.
In September, HEARTSTEEL released "Live My Life", its second single since debuting in 2023. Meanwhile, True Damage returned with "Know My Name", the official Worlds 2026 anthem. The group had not released new music since "GIANTS" in 2019.
Pentakill also returned to a Riot music production, contributing to an orchestral version of the Worlds 2026 theme.
