Katowice Gets Loaded: The Full ESL Pro League S24 Roster Is Revealed

ESL Pro League Season 24 has its complete 16 team lineup, and this edition comes with a twist that changes everything: it's going full LAN, dropping from a bloated 24 team field to a tighter, meaner 16 team battle at the legendary Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland. From October 3 to 11, teams will fight for a $1,000,000 prize pool and a serious boost in the ESL Grand Slam race.

The invites went out based on the August 2026 Valve Regional Standings, and here's the wild part: not a single one of the 12 top ranked teams turned down their spot. That almost never happens, and it says a lot about how much this trophy still matters to the biggest names in CS2.

The Heavy Hitters Get Their Golden Tickets

Twelve teams punched their ticket straight through the VRS ranking, and it's basically a who's who of Counter-Strike royalty right now.

Notice something? South America is showing up in force this time. 9z, FURIA, and Legacy all locked in their spots, giving the region three shots at glory on one of CS2's biggest stages.

The Underdogs Who Fought Their Way In

While the big names got their invites handed to them, four teams had to grind through the ESL Challenger League Season 51 finals to earn their spot. And that story got even better when ShindeN knocked out Imperial 3-1 to steal the South American qualifier slot, proving there's real depth building outside the usual suspects.

For these four, just showing up on the same server as Team Vitality or Natus Vincere is already a win. But don't sleep on them. Qualifier teams have crashed the party before, and Katowice loves a good underdog story.

The Names Everyone Expected But Won't See

Two legendary organizations, FaZe Clan and Team Liquid, are sitting this one out, and it's not because they wanted to. FaZe landed at 13th in the August VRS with 1,677 points, just one spot and a handful of points away from cracking the top 12 that guaranteed a direct invite. So close, yet painfully out of reach.

Liquid's story hurts even more. Despite a strong late push, including wins over Vitality and G2 that pulled them up the Americas standings, the North American roster still landed far outside the global top 12 cutoff that decides these invites. For an organization with as much Pro League history as Liquid, watching this one from home is a tough pill to swallow.

Both teams have the talent to make deep runs whenever they show up, so their absence leaves a real gap in the storylines heading into October. It also means the door was wide open for teams like PARIVISION and Aurora Gaming to lock in spots that might have gone differently in a bigger bracket.

How the Bracket Actually Works

Forget the old group stage format. All 16 teams drop into a Swiss system, playing best of three matches until eight lineups punch their playoff ticket. From there it's single elimination all the way, with every match (except the grand final) staying best of three. The final itself gets bumped up to best of five, because when a million dollars is on the line, you want every advantage settled the hard way.

With this stacked a lineup, a couple of notable absences and a full LAN format bringing back that Spodek Arena energy, ESL Pro League S24 already feels like a tournament worth clearing your calendar for.
