Riot has provided a preview of what LoL Patch 25.21 will bring to the table, giving us a glimpse of life post-Worlds. The new update will bring buffs to several AD carry champions, nerfs to a couple of Junglers that have taken over the ladder recently, and a partial revert to Gwen's kit.

Let's take a look at what's coming our way when League of Legends Patch 25.21 arrives on Wednesday, October 22nd!

Ezreal, Kalista, and Yunara Gain Some Power Back

A long-standing fan favorite among ADC players, Ezreal's win rate just doesn't live up to expectations. Despite this, the champion continues to be one of the most picked ADCs in Solo Queue. To commend all of the devoted fans of the champion, Ezreal will be receiving a healthy buff to his AD per level scaling in Patch 25.21.

And then we have Kalista, the lowest picked ADC in the game as well as the one with the lowest win rate. Like Ezreal, though, Kalista will receive a buff to her AD per level scaling in the new patch which will hopefully leave her in a good spot moving forward.

Last but not least, Patch 25.21 will deliver numerous buffs to the newest League of Legends champion: Yunara. Ever since her release, Yunara presented a problem because, while she remains one of the most played ADCs at the highest levels of play (like at Worlds 2025, for instance), her Solo Queue win rate remains abysmal as she desperately awaits buffs.

Given that Patch 25.21 won't affect Worlds, it is the perfect time to give Yunara some much-needed power back. The new update will deliver buffs to both her [W] Arc of Judgment/Arc of Ruin and [E] Kanmei's Steps/Untouchable Shadow as Riot continues to monitor her progress.

Jungle Assassins Taken Down a Notch

A few assassins have been taking over the Jungle, and now Patch 25.21 sets out to do something about that. More specifically, Qiyana and Diana will be getting nerfs in hopes that they will feel a little more fair to play against.

Qiyana will receive a slight damage reduction to her [Q] Edge of Ixtal, causing her to farm a little more slowly in the Jungle while also reducing her burst power ever-so-slightly.

For Diana, the nerfs focus on her incredible farming speed and damage to neutral objectives. LoL Patch 25.21 will lower the damage ratio of her [P] Moonsilver Blade by 20%, meaning she will not have such an easy time running circles around less damage-focused Junglers moving forward.

Gwen's Kit Gets a Partial Revert

All the way back in March of this year (during Patch 25.06), Gwen received a large set of changes and adjustments to her kit which eventually left her in a less-than-ideal state. Now, LoL Patch 25.21 sets out to correct that, reverting many of the original changes.

This essentially means that Gwen will be a little tankier moving forward, while her [P] A Thousand Cuts, [Q] Snip Snip!, and [R] Needlework receive straight up buffs.

While Gwen is definitely among the weakest of Top Lane champions at the moment, it seems likely for these buffs to overshoot the mark and turn Gwen into an absolute menace overnight. The good thing, though, is that pro play comes to an end for the year after Worlds 2025, which means that teams and players will not be able to abuse the champion at the highest levels of play.

Life Post Worlds

As stated before, the 2025 League of Legends World Championship is being played solely on Patch 25.20, which means the new patch will not affect the tournament. Without having to worry about pro play, Patch 25.21 sets out to accommodate the bulk of the League of Legends player base instead, delivering a set of champion buffs and nerfs that were long overdue. This will hopefully turn picks such as Yunara into viable options on the once more.
