Heroic have set a record at The International 14, taking down Tundra Esports in spectacular fashion. The win not only sends the last three-time TI hopeful, Neta "33" Shapira, home. It's also the first time a Brazilian squad has made it to top six at The International, the highest the region has ever accomplished.
Heroic achieved this incredible result with bold draft at The International, along with perfect coordination between the players.
Heroic first pick Pudge against Tundra Esports

Game two of the series between Heroic and Tundra saw a wild opening pick by the South Americans. Pudge, the most picked hero in pubs is a very risky pick in pro play. The ability to land hooks goes down dramatically against coordinated stacks, especially a squad made up of several TI winners.
After opening up with Pudge, Heroic followed with Broodmother, another "cheese" pick, often taken last in the draft. Tundra hoped that a support Monkey King would find the spider queen but that turned out to be a vain hope. To ensure this risky draft paid off, Heroic had two saving supports in Shadow Demon and Tusk to ensure their cores can do their job.
The game went well for Tundra at the start, but Heroic's incredible teamfight lineup and execution proved to be more than enough to take the game. Tundra had trouble bringing down the South Americans, who had saves on their supports, heals from Phoenix, and an overall durable lineup with four Black King Bars against a high-magic damage draft.

When asked about how their draft came together, João Gabriel "4nalog" Giannini Santos said it's due to the team's need to show off what they can do to the world.
"We have to be bold, we have to prove ourselves. We have to be men and pick what we want, first pick brood, pudge."
Heroic's victory puts them at top six at this International. This is the highest the region has ever achieved, tied with Thunder Awaken's top six finish at The International three years ago. We are hoping to see even more success for Heroic and the entire South America region at this International.
