After his introduction into Captain's Mode, Largo has emerged as one of the strongest heroes in Dota 2. The hero had a 100% contestion rate in PGL Wallachia Season 7. His 69% win rate across 23 games tell the story of a very overtuned hero.

Largo isn't the most popular hero in ranked but he still boosts impessive stats there. Playing against a strong Largo can be a nightmare and in this article, we will list the best Largo counters in Dota 2 right now.

The three best Largo counters in Dota 2 patch 7.40c

Chen

Chen is an interesting counter to Largo. The hero doesn't directly engage with the frog, but instead does a great job at countering his playstyle.

During the laning stage, Chen can pressure Largo with his creeps and Penitence spam. It's not enough by itself to kill Largo but can  bring him down with a strong carry's help.

Chen's main strength is his fast pushing ability. Largo needs to farm for both Aghanim's Scepter and Sange and Kaya to sustain himself in long fights. That takes a while to farm up and Chen's fast push can shut him down before Largo reaches critical mass. Chen's heal also works well to counter Largo's ultimate, with both heroes acting as medics for their respective lineups.

Chen's playstyle directly clashes with Largo's, making him a solid counter. Chen wins this matchup 51% of the time.

Legion Commander

If you're looking to counter Largo as an offlaner, then Legion Commander is one of your best picks.

Unlike Largo, Legion Commander aims to engage the enemy team as soon as possible. This makes her active playstyle a great way to apply pressure to the opposing team, especially when their offlaner is busy jungling. This might cause the enemy to give up just be comparing one active offlaner to one jungler.

Largo is a great Duel target. He neds a few seconds to get his ultimate going and Legion can interrupt that. He is also pretty bad at winning duels. Not only does Legion remove a threat, she will likely bring him down each time.

Thanks to her active playstyle, ability to shut him down, and overall durability, Legion Commander counters Largo in more than 52% of the matchup.

Chaos Knight

If you're looking for a strong carry to counter Largo, then Chaos Knight is your best bet.

Similar to Chen, CK begins the game by laning against Largo. And Chaos Knight is one of the most aggressive laning carries in the game. With Chaos Bolt and Strike, he can easily chase and bring down Largo. Especially when paired with a strong support.

One of Chaos Knight's strengths is his mass burst damage. This is a strong tool to have when playing against Largo. The frog bard specilizes in long fights, and being burst down forces him to buy items such as Aeon Disk, which doesn't fit his build at all.

Largo is dominating the meta right now. But he can be managed in pubs with quick pushes, strong lockdown, and high burst damage. These heroes are all solid Largo counters, but there are plenty more for creative players.
