One of the most beloved game modes in League of Legends is set to return! The fast-paced ARURF will be available to everyone when Patch 25.15 goes live on July 30th, 2025.

If you're excited to push your mechanics to the limit in the ARURF chaos, then here's everything you need to know about the upcoming game mode.

What Is ARURF?

In LoL, ARURF is one of the game's rotating game modes. "All Random Ultra Rapid Fire", as is its full name, is essentially just that: a version of League of Legends that lets you play the game with virtually no cooldowns on your abilities, no mana costs, and increased gold generation for faster builds. There's a twist, though, you can't choose your champion.

The high-octane, chaotic nature of ARURF has turned it into one of LoL's most popular game modes. The low-stakes and relatively short duration of matches makes this game mode the perfect stage for testing out new champions and builds, flaunting your skills, and letting loose.

ARURF Changes and Mechanics

If you're wondering how ARURF works exactly, then look no further. Just like in ARAM, players are given a champion at random once they load up to play a game of ARURF. If you're not happy with your champion, however, you can choose to spend a reroll token to try your luck at a different champion instead. These reroll tokens are not infinite and regenerate over matches, so use them wisely!

Once the game starts, you'll notice a global buff which affects all players. This is the "Awesome Buff of Awesomely Awesome Buffing," which grants champions all of the following:

  • Mana and Energy consumption reduced by 100%
  • Health costs reduced by 50%
  • +300% Ability Haste, Summoner Spell Haste, and Item Haste
  • +25% Tenacity
  • 60 Bonus Movement Speed
  • Bonus Attack Speed is multiplied by 1.5 for Melee champions, and by 2 for Ranged champions
  • Base Attack Speed cap is modified to 10
  • Gain 90 bonus experience every 30 seconds
  • Critical Strikes deal 25% additional damage
  • Mana champions gain bonus Health equal to 35% bonus Mana, and bonus Health regeneration equal to 100% bonus Mana regeneration

Outside of this buff, the Summoner's Rift map remains relatively untouched. This means jungle camps and neutral objectives still exist, and remain a big part of the game. The biggest difference, however, will be the addition of cannons at each team's fountains, which can be used to launch your champion into a location of your choosing on the map.

When landing, any enemies hit will take damage and be knocked up. This not only ensures you get back to the action in a flash, but also gives players the opportunity to create amazing outplays.

Best ARURF Champions in LoL

Given the vastly different playstyle in ARURF compared to your normal Summoner's Rift experience, this exciting game mode opens the door for new champions to shine. If you're interested in trying out new champions or items, then this is your chance.

Since champions in ARURF have basically no cooldowns, increased experience, and increased gold, this makes some aspects of champions in LoL all the more important. Some of these are: scaling, range, crowd control, burst.

If you'd like to load into your next game of this game mode ready to dominate the competition, then here's a list including some of the best champions in ARURF:

  • Jinx: Her great range, combined with increased Attack Speed and gold generation, make Jinx very hard to deal with.
  • Kayle: In ARURF, everyone scales faster, making Kayle a great option.
  • Lux: Endless crowd control and long range burst. What more can you ask for?
  • Shaco: Turning invisible every couple of seconds? Shaco turns his obnoxious playstyle to the max in ARURF.
  • Vayne: The best tank-shredder in the game.
  • Smolder: Like Kayle, Smolder can get a free-pass into the 'late game' in ARURF.
  • Teemo: With never-ending Blinds, Teemo can make the game unplayable for any auto-attack champion on the enemy team.

While this is just a list of some of the champions that benefit the most from the breathless nature of ARURF, it's good to remember that just about any champion can excel in this game mode. And, at the end of the day, ARURF is all about having fun, anyway!
