The LCS has confirmed its three representatives for Worlds 2026 following the Summer Split playoffs. North America heads into the League of Legends World Championship on home soil, with the tournament taking place across the United States in October and November.

All three berths were determined by the final playoff standings, but the seeding order was not settled until the LCS' final weekend. The top two teams advanced directly to the Swiss Stage, while the third-place finisher will have to begin its Worlds campaign in the Play-In Stage.

Which LCS Teams Are at Worlds 2026?

The three LCS teams that qualified for Worlds 2026 are Team Liquid, LYON and Cloud9. Here are the lineups heading into the tournament:

TeamSeedRoster: Top / Jungle / Mid / ADC / Support
Team Liquid1Morgan / Josedeodo / Quid / Yeon / CoreJJ
LYON2Dhokla / Inspired / Saint / Berserker / Isles
Cloud93Thanatos / Blaber / Loki / Tactical / Vulcan

With all three berths decided, the LCS lineup is complete on the list of all teams qualified for Worlds 2026.

How Did the LCS Teams Qualify for Worlds 2026?

LCS qualification for Worlds 2026 was decided entirely through the Summer Split playoffs. The top three teams earned places at the World Championship, while their final positions determined the region's seeding order.

The playoffs used a modified double-elimination bracket with best-of-five series. Cloud9 was the first team to mathematically secure its Worlds berth, while Team Liquid and LYON confirmed their places in the following rounds.

Seed 1: Team Liquid

Team Liquid entered the playoffs after finishing the regular season with a 6-1 record. In its first series of the bracket, TL swept FlyQuest 3-0 on September 20, guaranteeing a top-three finish in the LCS and, with it, a place at Worlds 2026.

In the upper-bracket final one week later, Team Liquid defeated Cloud9 3-1. The result sent TL directly to the Grand Final and ensured the team could no longer finish third, removing any possibility of having to enter Worlds through the Play-In Stage.

In the October 4 final, Team Liquid faced LYON and won another 3-1 series. The Summer Split title gave the organization the LCS' first seed at Worlds 2026.

Seed 2: LYON

LYON finished the regular season in first place, also with a 6-1 record, but opened its playoff run with a 3-1 loss to Cloud9. The defeat sent the team to the lower bracket and put its Worlds qualification at risk.

The recovery came on September 26. LYON defeated Shopify Rebellion 3-1 to claim the final LCS berth still available at Worlds. At that point, however, the team still did not know which stage of the tournament it would enter.

In the lower-bracket final on October 3, LYON got its rematch against Cloud9 and won 3-1. The result sent the team to the Grand Final, secured the LCS' second seed and guaranteed a direct place in the Swiss Stage.

LYON still had a chance to finish as the region's first seed, but a 3-1 loss to Team Liquid in the final left the team as the Summer Split runner-up.

Seed 3: Cloud9

Cloud9 was the first LCS team to mathematically secure its place at Worlds 2026. After opening the playoffs with a 3-0 victory over Shopify Rebellion, C9 defeated LYON 3-1 on September 19 and guaranteed a top-three finish in the tournament.

The qualification marked Cloud9's return to the World Championship after missing both the 2024 and 2025 editions. Its final seed, however, still depended on the remaining playoff rounds.

Cloud9 lost 3-1 to Team Liquid in the upper-bracket final and dropped into the lower bracket. In its October 3 rematch against LYON, C9 suffered another 3-1 defeat and finished the Summer Split in third place.

As a result, Cloud9 took the LCS' third seed and will begin its Worlds 2026 campaign in the Play-In Stage.

Which LCS Team Plays in the Worlds 2026 Play-In Stage?

Cloud9 is the only LCS representative that will begin Worlds 2026 in the Play-In Stage. As North America's third seed, C9 must advance through the opening stage to join Team Liquid and LYON in the Swiss Stage.

Cloud9 opens against Karmine Corp, the LEC's third seed, on October 15. The series will be played as a best-of-five. FURIA and MVK Esports complete the four-team bracket, with only one spot in the Swiss Stage available.

When Do the LCS Teams Start at Worlds 2026?

Cloud9 will be the first LCS representative in action at Worlds 2026. The team faces Karmine Corp on October 15 at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles.

Team Liquid and LYON will enter directly into the Swiss Stage on October 23 at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas.

The Swiss Stage runs from October 23 to 31. The Knockout Stage will take place from November 3 to 8, also in Allen, before the Grand Final on November 14 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. See the Worlds 2026 broadcast start times for every region.
