Tundra Esports takes second place at DreamLeague Season 28. A hard fought victory over BetBoom team sees them with a 5-1 score. Their last game will be against the currently undefeated Team Liquid.

After the victory, Matthew "Whitemon" Filemon had a quick chat with the panel. During which he shared how Tundra drafts their support duo, his favorite position five right now, and why he talks so much during drafts.

Whitemon: "I think something needs to change about game two draft."

The series opened up with a quick 27 victory for Tundra Esports. While game two saw them fumble their laning stage. Whitemon what went through the team's minds during the draft.

"The Chen + Kotl idea, we just focus on the lane, I know that BetBoom doesn't like playing vs chen. We just keep picking it every time it's open. The Kotl is comfort hero for Ari, so we keep picking it every time. Game two was a bit sus. We picked Kotl and we want to play around but we kinda fucked up our early game so it didn't go well. But I think something needs to change about game two draft."

The Dota 2 meta is constantly evolving, and roles are always adjusting. Players have to consistently adapt to a changing landscape.

Among the things players focus on, is whether to prioritize picks to win lanes, or to dominate team fights later on. Whitemon believes it's all about balancing both, "I would say maybe the one that gives team fight is more important. But you cannot really sacrifice lane also. So you need to find a good balance between picking a team fight hero on position five, you need a strong carry to carry you through the lane."

In an earlier interview, Ari spoke about his focus on specializing on six or seven heroes. Whitemon has a different approach to his hero pool. When asked what his favorite hero is right now, he... doesn't have any. "I will pick whatever looks good for the team. I don't really care, I can play anything. If Neta says this hero is good, I'll just play it."

Whitemon has a flexible hero pool. And perhaps that impacts the team's communication. Tundra's coach recently opened up that Filemon talks a bit too much during drafts.

The hard support explained the meaning behind that comment, "I just suggesting mid heroes for BZM, or maybe suggesting the bans. Maybe I talk a lot, I don't give enough space for others to talk, so maybe that's what he meant."

Tundra Esports will face off against the toughest opponents in DreamLeague Season 28. Catch all the action live on ESL's Twitch Channel.
