Ubisoft has announced a significant update to its anti-cheat measures in Rainbow Six Siege with the Y9S4.2 patch. These changes aim to create a more secure and fair gaming environment by implementing harsher penalties for cheaters and improving game integrity systems.

Permanent Ban for Botting on First Offense

In a bold move, Ubisoft has updated its policy for players caught botting. Previously, botting resulted in a 15-day suspension for the first offense, escalating to a permanent ban on the second. Now, any player detected botting will face an immediate permanent ban, thanks to improvements in the detection system that significantly reduce false positives.

“We’ve heard your feedback,” Ubisoft stated on their Rainbow Six Siege X account, highlighting the community's role in pushing for stricter measures.

Cheater Match Cancellation and Live Kicks

Ubisoft is also tackling cheaters mid-match. With the new update, cheaters identified during a match will be kicked immediately, and the match will be automatically canceled. Notably, players will retain their ELO, and a rollback will be applied for those who queued with the cheater that season, preventing unfair losses.

Renowned coach and analyst Jessica “Jess” Bolden tested this feature and shared her experience on her X account, stating, “[Ubisoft] are not messing around.” Her video showcased a canceled match due to a detected cheater, drawing praise from the community.

Strengthened Encryption and Security

In addition to sanctions, Ubisoft continues to invest in security updates. Y9S4.2 introduces new rounds of binary hardening and encryption, similar to efforts in earlier patches. These updates aim to disrupt cheat providers, making it harder for them to create and distribute cheats.

These stricter measures underline Ubisoft’s commitment to improving the competitive integrity of Rainbow Six Siege and fostering a fairer gaming environment for all players.
