Rainbow Six Siege Year 11 Season 3: Operation Split Fire is set to be one of the most game-changing updates in its history. With the Test Server opening on August 17th and the full season launching on September 1st, Ubisoft is rolling out a massive update targeting key community feedback.

From a new Defender designed to shatter the oppressive shield meta to sweeping Ranked 3.0 updates, extensive weapon balancing, and an innovative "Targeted Map Update" system, Split Fire is poised to reshape tactics across all levels of play.

Noor and the Horus Lance: The Ultimate Shield Destroyer

For several seasons, ballistic shields have dominated high-level Siege matches, restricting Defender options once an attacking push begins. Operation Split Fire introduces Ahmed Mourad—callsign “Noor”—a two-speed, two-health Defender from Egypt who followed his father's footsteps by enlisting in the military before joining Team Rainbow. Noor's kit offers a direct, high-heat counter to shield-led pushes.

Noor uses the Horus Lance Launcher with five Horus Lances. These drill into surfaces to emit localized fire on both sides. For shield users (Montagne/Blitz/Fuze/Osa), this is a direct counter: sticking a lance to their shield forces them to remove it—leaving themselves exposed—or burn quickly.

The Horus Lance acts as a versatile area and plant-denial tool. It drills through soft walls, reinforcements, Castle’s Armor Panels, Azami’s Kiba Barriers, or Osa Talon Shields, releasing fire from adjacent rooms. Pair him with intel (Pulse/Valkyrie) for plant denial, or crowd control (Tubarão/Melusi) and his secondary Deployable Shields or Barbed Wire to trap attackers.

His primary weapons are some fan favorites, wielding the Commando 9 assault rifle and ALDA LMG, with 1911 TACOPS and Bailiff 410 handguns as secondaries.

High-Tier Competition: The SoloQ Legend Division

For high-level competitors, mid-season will bring the debut of the Legend Division, an exclusive, SoloQ-only playlist. Entry is restricted to players who hold a Champion rank, reached Platinum rank in Season 2, possess a positive reputation standing, and meet strict security requirements.

  • PC access requires the R6 Shield Guard secure platform, requiring Secure Boot, Windows Memory Integrity (HVCI), and TPM 2.0

  • Players must grant temporary administrative privileges for verification and activate 2FA.

  • Regional leaderboards are public, and a dedicated dev team will actively monitor matches.

  • The top 100 players earn a charm next season displaying their final rank, which they must defend.

Ranked 3.0 Refinements

Ubisoft is introducing significant Ranked 3.0 updates. Placements remain set at five matches but feature larger rank point swings. Base points rewarded per win increase to 30. Champion players will soft-reset directly to Emerald 3 before placements begin.

To preserve lobby balance, Emeralds can no longer queue with Platinum or Gold squadmates into Champion lobbies. Note that the Operator Mastery system is delayed to Season 4.

Weapon and Operator Balancing Notes

Dokkaebi & Mk 14 EBR Balance Overhaul

  • Jegeo Payload Upload: Now requires a continuous connection between Dokkaebi’s tablet and the target’s phone. Breaking the signal immediately cancels the upload.

  • Mute Counterplay: Mute’s Signal Disruptors act as a direct counter by severing the active upload link.

  • Active Tablet Detection: While an upload is in progress, Dokkaebi’s tablet remains active, allowing Solis to track her electronically for the entire duration.

  • IQ Synergy: IQ can track the target’s active phone throughout the upload, enabling coordinated pushes.

  • Gadget Swaps: Her Impact EMP Grenades are replaced with Breach Charges.

  • Mk 14 EBR Stats: Damage is reduced to 56 HP (down from 60). On Mouse and Keyboard, the first-shot multiplier increases to 3.5 (up from 1.8).

  • Aruni Adjustment: The Muzzle Brake has been removed from Aruni's Mk 14 EBR.

Weapon Balancing (Nerfs & Buffs)

  • AR-15.50: Damage is reduced to 59 HP (down from 67) and recoil is increased. Tubarão loses the Muzzle Brake for this weapon.

  • SMG-12: Damage drops to 16 HP (down from 28). Magazine capacity is reduced to 22 bullets (down from 32) and maximum ammo capacity is cut to 111 bullets (down from 129).

  • SPSMG9: Damage increases to 35 HP (up from 33) to boost reliability in short-range engagements.

Kali (CSRX 300 & Gadget Polish)

  • Scope Magnification: CSRX 300 zoom levels are reduced to 3.5x (down from 5x) and 8x (down from 12x) for better versatility.

  • Ammo & Handling: Maximum ammunition capacity is increased to 51 bullets (up from 36). The bolt-action pump time is reduced to 0.8 seconds (down from 1.0 second).

  • Visuals & Precision: Bullet trace duration is shortened to 1 second (down from 2). The first-shot multiplier increases to 3.5 (up from 2.5), while hip-fire spread increases to 0.4 (from 0.3455).

  • Gadget Usability: Activating or deactivating the LV Explosive Lance no longer cancels her ADS or leaning state.

Lion, Kapkan & Echo

  • Lion: The scan warning duration drops slightly to 1.4 seconds (down from 1.5).

  • Kapkan: Entry Denial Device trap damage is increased to 62 HP (up from 60).

  • Echo: Yokai Drone sonic burst refill time is reduced to 15 seconds (down from 16).

Targeted Map Updates: Re-architecting Villa

In response to player requests, Ubisoft is launching Targeted Map Updates, introducing smaller, impactful tweaks to existing maps in seasons without new maps. First up is Italy’s Villa.

  • The underplayed Living Room/Library bomb site moves downstairs to the basement. The basement is redesigned with new bomb locations, rotations, hatches, and cover.
  • The garage becomes an interior space instead of an exterior approach, completely changing attacks on the eastern side. Surrounding areas have also received minor adjustments to improve flow, droning lanes, and general gameplay.

Stadium Alpha, Stadium Bravo, and House are also receiving visual updates, alongside shooting range and tutorial graphic refreshes.

Playlists, Onboarding, and Quality of Life Updates

Operation Split Fire introduces two exciting limited-time playlists:

3v3 Arcade:

A tactical bomb mode featuring a maximum of 7 rounds and a 30-second prep phase. It features "Operator Attrition" rules: once a team wins a round, the three Operators they played are locked out for the rest of the match, forcing strategic synergy adjustments.

Wasteland Circuit:

Rainbow Six Siege Wasteland Circuit header

Running from September 23rd to October 13th, this is Siege’s first drone racing event. Players race across three tracks, collecting boost and item balloons to sabotage opponents.

  • For onboarding, Beginner Friendly Fire reduces team damage for players below level 10.
  • Quick Match now features a minimap.
  • The Clear House and Field Training playlists now include Casino, Emerald Plains, Stadium 2020, Stadium Bravo, and House, adding Ram, Osa, Mozzie, and Brava to Field Training.
  • The Options menu has been redesigned with better categorization.
  • Adaptive Render Scaling is on by default on PC.
  • Circular gauges now track hold prompts, and the Surrender and Vote Box lets teams surrender if down or if a teammate is disconnected for 6+ minutes.
  • Finally, price decreases cut Ram to 10,000 Renown, Skopos to 15,000, and Denari to 20,000.

With deep-cutting sandbox adjustments, a game-changing new Defender, and exciting competitive features like the Legend Division, Operation Split Fire is shaping up to be an unforgettable season for new recruits and veteran champions alike.
