The Stars Aligned! Nigma Galaxy qualifies for The International 2025
The International 2025 Qualifiers have come to an end, and we now have the results for Southeast Asia and Western Europe. These were the final two regions to complete their regional qualifiers, and now all that’s left is the wait for The International 2025.
The beginning of the end for the regional qualifiers started on July 16th, when the first results began to come in. Unlike the other regions, both Southeast Asia and Western Europe had two qualification slots each. First, Team Nemesis and NaVi Junior secured their spots on the 16th. Then, on the 17th, BOOM Esports and Nigma Galaxy confirmed their victories.
The International 2025 Qualifiers: Southeast Asia
As usual, the results from Southeast Asia arrived earlier due to time zone differences. First up, Team Nemesis embarked on a long and inspiring journey, climbing all the way from the second Open Qualifiers to the Upper Bracket Finals.
They started in the first round of the Upper Bracket, defeating Tech Free Gaming 2-0. They then proceeded to beat BOOM Esports 2-1 and Execration 2-0. In the Grand Finals, they capped off their Cinderella story with a 2-1 victory over Flipster Talon Esports, earning their ticket to The International 2025.
Meanwhile, the Lower Bracket told a different story. BOOM Esports, after losing to Team Nemesis in their opening Upper Bracket match, had to fight their way back from elimination.
BOOM started their Lower Bracket run with a 2-1 win over Castawake, followed by a 2-0 victory against Ivory in the Quarterfinals. They then edged out Execration 2-1 in the Semifinals. In the final hurdle, Flipster Talon Esports got a second chance but fell again, losing 1-2, which secured BOOM the second Southeast Asian slot for TI 2025.
Unfortunately, Flipster Talon Esports missed out despite two opportunities. But not all the news was bad — according to Wykrhm Reddy, Team Nemesis is the first full Filipino roster to qualify for The International since 2019!
The International 2025 Qualifiers: Western Europe
Alongside the SEA qualifiers, the Western Europe Qualifiers for TI 2025 were a true spectacle. NaVi Junior put on an incredible run, completing another underdog story. Their journey began in the Open Qualifiers, having left Eastern Europe for a better chance in the Western Europe bracket.
NaVi Junior defeated Yellow Submarine 2-0 in the first round of the Upper Bracket. They followed that up with a 2-1 victory over Nigma Galaxy in the Quarterfinals, another 2-1 against 1w Team in the Semifinals, and finally a dramatic 2-1 win over the new OG roster in the Upper Bracket Final to claim the first Western European slot for The International 2025.
Last but certainly not least, Nigma Galaxy made a triumphant return to Tier 1 Dota 2 with an incredible Lower Bracket run. After falling to NaVi Junior in the Quarterfinals, Nigma fought back.
They first swept both Virtus.pro and 4Pirates with 2-0 wins, then eliminated Yellow Submarine in the Semifinal. Finally, they faced OG, securing a 2-1 victory and earning the second Western European qualifier spot for TI 2025.
With this result, Nigma Galaxy finally reclaims their place at the top, sending OG’s hopes of returning to The International crashing down. Their next big challenge? Surviving the Group Stage starting September 4th.
