Team Spirit Are The International 2026 Champions

After a thrilling best-of-five, Team Spirit lifted the Aegis of Champions and were crowned The International 2026 Champions! They carved their names into the Aegis and go down in history as the first three-time TI Champions.

Let's take a look at how both Grand Finalists got through the Playoffs and which teams and adversities they had to overcome to reach the top of the ladder and get a chance to go for the championship.

How TEAM VISION Got to the Grand Final?

TEAM VISION made a great Playoff run, as expected from their performance in the Group Stage. The BoomBoys were their first challengers, and what a challenge it was. After a long first map, VISION won the match 2-1 and advanced to the Upper Bracket Semifinals.

Team Spirit was the next contestant, and despite their surprisingly good form, they lost the match 2-1 and fell to the Lower Bracket while TEAM VISION went forward to the Upper Bracket Final.

Closing off their trio of impressive challenges, TEAM VISION overcame Team Yandex in the Upper Bracket Final with another 2-1 in three long matches that lasted between 44 and 52 minutes and pushed Yandex to the Lower Bracket Final.

How Team Spirit Got to the Grand Final?

Team Spirit faced TEAM VISION over and over again during The International 2026, to the point where they have basically become their nemesis throughout the whole tournament.

In the Playoffs, Spirit's run started with an astounding 2-0 victory against Iron Wing, which was one of the tournament's favorites. This victory placed them in the Upper Bracket Semifinals, where they lost for the second time against TEAM VISION (the first time was in the Group Stage).

In the Lower Bracket, Spirit's first challenger was Team Liquid, and the dragon got straight through the horse with a 2-0 victory that started to signal their stable performance in the tournament.

In the Lower Bracket Semifinal, Team Spirit won another 2-0, this time in an Eastern European matchup against the BoomBoys. Their performance was flawless, and both maps took less than 40 minutes, making Spirit look strong on their way back up.

The Lower Bracket Final was another 2-0. Team Spirit managed to eliminate Team Yandex, which was the strongest rising star this season and won a handful of important tournaments to earn their Tier 1 status going into The International 2026.

This placed Team Spirit in the Grand Final, and once again they would face TEAM VISION. Eastern Europe had a great couple of seasons up until this point, with a TI Grand Final crowning their efforts with a regional matchup of titans clashing for the Aegis.

Team Spirit Are The International 2026 Champions

The Grand Final started with Team Spirit showing that they were eager to become the first three-time champion organization. They won the first map after an impressive display of strength by their cores and a very unusual mid Slark pick.

Map number two was TEAM VISION's opportunity to settle the score and show that they could face Yatoro's Shadow Fiend and survive to tell the story. 1-1 on the scoreboard, and the matchup turned into a "best-of-three."

Team Spirit tipped the scales in their favor again on map 3, standing one step away from becoming the first three-time champion organization in The International's history.

Unfortunately for them, TEAM VISION did not give up on their Aegis and tied the score once again, bringing the best-of-five to a dramatic last map in The International 2026 Grand Final.

Finally, Team Spirit overcame their nemesis one last time and became the first organization to win three editions of The International. Yatoro and Collapse have both been on the roster since the beginning and are the only three-time International Champions.

rue was the first to get interviewed after Team Spirit lifted their Aegis.

This is your first Aegis. This has to be special, what is going through your mind right now?

I don't know. It feels like a dream. Feels like I'm still in this game, in this best-of-five. So... I don't know... Unbelievable.

Yatoro was asked about his journey on The International so far.

When you lifted this Aegis for the first time, did you ever imagine the journey would be so incredible?

Yes, I hope I'm gonna win four or five. And I wanna say I have 55% percentile. IceFrog, can you give me the purple item on Drow Ranger please? Please, I lost all my predictions.
