Back in June of this year (2025), Team BDS announced that it would be undergoing a major transformation in the following months. According to a report by Sophie Marenne from the Swiss business magazine PME, this transformation will include a complete rebrand; one which will see Team BDS drop their current name and adopt that of Shifters instead.

From BDS to Shifters

In Marenne's report, Shifters' legal director, Jocelyn Roux, explained that the rebrand aims to strengthen the organization's local identity. The team is expected to go through a complete rebrand, which means a new logo, new team colors, and more. All of these, however, are yet to be revealed.

In their June announcement, BDS informed they would undergo "a series of major strategic developments" which would mark "the beginning of a new chapter for the Swiss organization." These developments included appointing a new CEO, establishing a new identity, and undergoing "a complete transformation through rebranding."

The team is expected to make their rebrand into Shifters public by mid-December. For now, it's worth noting that Team BDS has already been making moves in esports recently.

In League of Legends, BDS has had a team since as far back as 2020, though it was only in 2022 that they were included into the LEC, the top level of competitive LoL esports in Europe. Throughout 2025, Team BDS made further moves by entering both the Call of Duty: Warzone and Chess scenes.

It seems they're not done yet, however. With the transition into the Shifters brand coming soon, it will be interesting to see what other moves the Swiss organization has in store for us in the near future.
