With the Esports World Cup for Rainbow Six Siege concluding last night, Team BDS were crowned the champions. They absolutely decimated w7m 3-0 in a best-of-five series in the grand finals to lift the trophy.

The Road to the Grand Finals

BDS made it to the Grand Finals by sheer dominance. In the Playoffs, they beat out Brazilian giants FaZe Clan 2-1, even going 7-0 on a map. Then, they defeated FURIA, the reigning SI Champions, 2-0, not even giving them a chance to fight back.

Meanwhile, on the other side, w7m made quick work of Bleed and Team Liquid. Beating them both 2-0 to make their way to the grand finals.

The Grand Finals: A Bloodbath

Unexpected to all, the grand finals of the Esports World Cup was a complete bloodbath.

Starting off on BDS' pick of Clubhouse, the French powerhouse showed no mercy. Allowing w7m only 2 rounds on their defense, BDS completely walked over their opponents to win the first map 7-2.

It was a similar story on Consulate as well. With BDS taking the lead 4-2 on their defense, w7m were only able to pull out a single defense round, as BDS took the map 7-3.

The third and final map was Oregon, where BDS proceeded to completely destroy their opposition. Giving them only a single round win, BDS took home the map win at 7-1, and along with it, claimed the Esports World Cup trophy.

Although all eyes were on Stéphane "Shaiiko" Lebleu, it wasn't the veteran who carried the team. It was the youngster Théo "LikEfac" Mariano who put up an absolutely stellar performance to push his team to this dominant victory.

The Kings of Riyadh

This win was also BDS' third win in Riyadh, having won the Gamers8 tournaments in 2022 and 2023. Additionally, it was their third 3-0 win in the Grand Finals, granting them the title of the Kings of Riyadh.

Team BDS' emphatic victory over w7m in the Esports World Cup grand finals solidifies their position as the current best team in Rainbow Six Siege. Their relentless dominance and strategic prowess were on full display, making it clear why they are considered the Kings of Riyadh. With young talents like Théo "LikEfac" Mariano stepping up, the future looks bright for BDS as they continue to build their legacy in the world of esports.
