Dota 2 fans were in for a treat when LGD faced off against Aurora Gaming. In the third game of the series, Santiago "TaiLung" Agüero Gustavo set the all-time damage record on a hero, with over a quarter million damage dealt by Zeus in a pro game.

TaiLung achieved this thanks to a combination of a very unorthodox item build, an incredibly long game, and, of course, Zeus.

TaiLung shines in game three against Aurora.

Besides his record-breaking performance, TaiLung did an incredible job in game three. Aurora managed to hold the lead for most of the game but failed to capitalise on their advantage thanks to Zeus being an amazing base defender. Although they got two raxes down, the throne eluded them.

In a 111-minute game, two deaths is a phenomenal achievement. Aided somewhat by the fact that it was an overall low-kill game.

Let's go over his Zeus build and how it shaped the game. For mid Zeus, Kaya, Aghanim's Sceptre, and Refresher Orb are the big three items you want to rush. TaiLung had all 3 by 29 minutes, very good timing for the hero. As the game progressed, Octarine Core was added in order to speed up cooldowns.

It's at 35 minutes that signalled a record might be broken. TaiLung picked up Enchanter's Bauble. A great item for late-game, but generally underwhelming when picking it. The bauble shines if games go long enough, which this one certainly did.

Tai Lung then went for a right-click build. Hydra's Breath, BKB, Swift Blink, and Silver Edge. This worked well for him for a while, but eventually, Enchanter's Bauble reached 290% extra enchantment buff, and with Feverish, that reduced cooldowns by over 62%!

So Tai Lung went triple Divine Rapiers with magic amplification (as is the standard build, of course). With 75% magic damage amp and 62% cooldown reduction, TaiLung terrorised Aurora Gaming in their base.

The end result? 276k damage on Zeus. Beating the previous record set by Muhammad Rizky "inYourdreaM" Anugrah 13 patches ago. It's not even close either; IYD dealt 222k damage with Terrorblade, and TaiLung beat it by over 50,000!

With that amazing performance, LGD advances to the lower bracket finals of Blast Slam VII, facing off against BetBoom Gaming later today. Hope we see Zeus banned... or not?
