After almost four years together, Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan is saying good bye to Nigma Galaxy. This marks the second longest tenure for the midlaner.

Let's take a look at his time with Nigma, as well as discuss what the future might bring for the teams, if the stars align.

SumaiL joined Nigma Galaxy back when the DPC still existed. Remember that? ah the good old days. Well... Old days at least. Back then Nigma bounced between Division 1 and 2 of Western Europe but things improved over time.

Undoubtably the roster's biggest achievements was last year's International run. Nigma Galaxy has always had fans, but their tournament performances have been all over the place. Last International saw them make an impressive top six finish at the event. It was the team's first time making it to TI and they did not disappoint.

Things haven't been as rosy since though. Nigma Galaxy has failed to qualify for any major tournament this year apart from ESL One Birmingham. The near misses were likely a factor for SumaiL to leave the squad.

Who will Nigma Galaxy bring to replace SumaiL?

The big question moving forward is who will Nigma Galaxy bring in to fill up their roster. I believe there are two paths forward for the squad.

The first is to bring in a new midlaner. There are multiple free agents on the market, with Artem "lorenof" Melnyk showing impressive results in his time with Aurora Esports. Nigma Galaxy generally recruits established players over pub stars, so it's likely that if they bring in a midlaner, it's someone already known to the scene.

The second option, is Nigma Galaxy could recruit an offlaner. Tony "No!ob" Assaf  would move back to his original mid lane role and finding a new position three. Abdimalik "Malik" Sailau and Cedric "Davai Lama" Deckmyn are both on the market and could work with Nigma.

Personally, I'd rather see No!ob back to the mid lane. He played his best in that role and his time as an offlaner, while not bad, is certainly less consistent. A dedicated offlaner with No!ob back to his signature role might be the best way forward for Nigma Galaxy.
