Operation Tenfold Pursuit marks a major milestone in Rainbow Six Siege as Ubisoft celebrates 10 years of tactical action. Launching December 2, this season represents both a tribute to Siege’s legacy and a promise to its future. This time the focus is on tackling long-standing community concerns around anti-cheat, ranked matchmaking, gameplay variety, and balance philosophy.

Let’s break down all the updates coming to Operation Tenfold Pursuit.

Thatcher Rework

A decade after launch, Thatcher – one of Siege’s original operators – is receiving a full rework.

His new gadget, the EGS Disruptor, is a hybrid device featuring both a scanner and a launcher:

  • The scanner reveals electronic gadgets on nearby surfaces.
  • The launcher shoots directed EMP pulses to disable them for 15 seconds, with progress tracking shown on the screen.

Thatcher also gains a fourth primary weapon, the PMR-90A2 DMR, joining the L85 and AR33 assault rifles, and the M590 shotgun. This new DMR will also be available to Nøkk, Hibana, and Capitao. Early access starts with the Battle Pass, before unlocking for all players two weeks later.

A new elite skin bundle will accompany the rework at the season’s launch.

DSEG System Overhaul

The Disabled State for Electronic Gadgets (DSEG) system, which controls how gadgets react to EMP effects, has been updated:

  • Weapon sights are now electronic and will be disabled temporarily when EMPed.
  • Mute’s signal disruptor no longer disables electronics directly, but instead interferes with communication signals. Its radius has been increased, but fewer gadgets are affected overall.
  • Aruni’s Surya Gates will now properly enter a re-enabled state after EMP effects.

These consistencies further unify how gadget interactions behave under EMP and disruption mechanics.

This season focuses heavily on hard breachers for coordinated attacks.

Thermite

  • Gains a third Exothermic Charge.
  • New ITA-12S shotgun as a secondary weapon.

These improvements give Thermite significantly more flexibility and utility for map control.

Hibana

Hibana receives several impactful buffs:

  • Type 89 recoil reduced, making her main rifle easier to control.
  • Gains the PMR90A2 DMR for added versatility.
  • Claymores added to her secondary options.
  • X-KAIROS launcher no longer requires reloading between volleys.

Altogether, these buffs make Hibana stronger, smoother to play, and a strong alternative to Ace.

Maverick

  • Blow torch no longer pauses to cool down.
  • Gains back frag grenades.
  • Receives the Reaper Mark II pistol as a new secondary.

Ace

  • Now a three-armor, one-speed operator.
  • Gains stun grenades to complement his kit.

Castle and Kaid Adjustments:

  • Castle walls are now electrifiable using Kaid’s claw.

Fortress Map Rework and Map Pool Update

The long-awaited Fortress rework arrives this season after extensive testing. Ubisoft has improved attacker entry points, compressed overly long hallways, rebalanced objectives, and turned the courtyard into an exterior zone. With its rebalance complete, Fortress returns to ranked and professional map pools. Check out all the new changes HERE.

Additionally, Theme Park and Skyscraper begin the modernizing process to ensure the map pool remains fresh and competitive.

Matchmaking Changes:

Shieldguard 2.0

Ubisoft doubles down on its anti-cheat measures, acknowledging weaknesses since the move to free access. Changes include:

  • Twice-weekly Shieldguard updates to disrupt cheat developers.
  • More frequent, data-driven bans for faster enforcement.
  • Development of a recoil script detection system trained using pro player data to ensure fair precision.
  • Continued R&D investments to strengthen Siege’s long-term security.

Ranked Matchmaking Gets Smarter

Ranked now includes Visual Rank Matchmaking, ensuring players of similar skill and progress face each other. Squads will use the highest member’s visual rank for matchmaking, keeping games tighter and fairer across all tiers.

New Training and Onboarding Tools

Operation Tenfold Pursuit enhances the training experience with several new tools:

  • Keres Legion bots act as roaming enemies that throw grenades, hold angles, and replicate PvP behaviors. These bots resemble the old bots from T-hunt that everyone loved, but better.
  • Players can now respawn instantly, change operators, and use the minimap to learn maps effectively.
  • Bot teammates arrive for both attack and defense, offering full 5v5 simulated matches.
  • Additional UI options include a minimap, and additional options that display camera, staircase, and hatch locations directly in training modes.

Introducing Testing Grounds

Ubisoft is adding a brand-new Testing Grounds playlist, a public test space for experimental mechanics. Here, players can test upcoming features, give direct feedback, and help shape future updates.

The first iteration arrives in January, focusing on armor and speed customization. Operators will be able to tweak speed, health, and sound profiles for testing. Feedback submission will be integrated directly via an in-game QR code.

Operation Tenfold Pursuit Launch Details

  • Test Server Release: November 17, 2025
  • Official Launch Date: December 2, 2025

Ubisoft’s message is clear: Operation Tenfold Pursuit is as much a look back at what made Siege special as it is a renewed commitment to its future.
