PVISION Are the Esports World Cup 2026 Champions

The Esports World Cup 2026 (EWC 2026) is over, and PVISION emerges as champions. Let's take a look at the path both Grand Finalists took to the last match of the tournament and the teams they faced along the way.

With the end of the EWC 2026, the way is open to the greatest ambition of every professional Dota 2 player in the world, with The International 2026 ahead of us and teams having almost a month to prepare their strategies.

BB Team: An Almost Perfect Run

BB Team started the tournament by missing out on direct Playoff seeding and getting past the Survival Stage after beating LGD Gaming 2-0. Their dominance was clear, and they proceeded to make a perfect run through the Playoffs.

First, they beat Nigma Galaxy in the Quarterfinals. After that, they also defeated Vici Gaming 2-0 in the Upper Bracket Semifinal before reaching the Grand Final to wait for the Lower Bracket results.

PVISION: Inching Closer to the Top

PVISION has been through a pretty hard time since finishing third at The International 2025 but has been slowly inching its way back to the top of professional Dota 2.

In contrast to BB Team, they managed to finish first in Group C and were seeded directly into the Quarterfinals of the Playoffs after recording four victories and one tie in the Group Stage.

Their Playoff run started with a 2-0 victory against the tournament's dark horse, eliminating the Rune Eaters and advancing to the Lower Bracket Semifinal.

The Lower Bracket Semifinal was a lot harder than the Quarterfinal, considering that PVISION had to face Team Yandex, which has been consistently getting good results since the beginning of the season.

PVISION started the matchup with a 1-0 advantage. Team Yandex tied the score after an hour-long map, but PVISION advanced to the Grand Final after winning the third map and closing out the series 2-1.

The Grand Final started with BB Team taking a 1-0 lead before PVISION tied the score at 1-1 in the second map. Unfortunately for BB Team, this was the point where PVISION managed to figure them out and went on to win the match 3-1.

PVISION takes home $750,000 for first place, BB Team adds $340,000 to its coffers for second place, and Team Yandex earns $200,000 for finishing third.

Closing Thoughts

The Esports World Cup 2026 was the last big tournament in the Dota 2 Pro Circuit before The International 2026 closes out the season with the race for the Aegis of Champions.
