Predecessor, a next-generation team-based strategy MOBA game developed by Omeda Studios, has announced their new championship circuit. The announcement follows the success of the recent Summer Showdown Creator Tournament back in April of this year. Titled the Predecessor Championship Circuit, it is set to seize the momentary momentum garnered and – hopefully transform what has been up until now grassroots and community passion - into a fully-fledged competitive esports circuit.

What is Predecessor?

Predecessor is a visionary reimagining of the MOBA genre, played in third-person. Players traverse and battle through the traditional 3-lanes but genre-redefining elements are introduced such as unique abilities, immersive third-person perspectives, and verticality all serve bring an experience to MOBA fans like nothing else.

Launched in 2024, Predecessor is considered the spiritual successor to Paragon, a competitive title Epic Games had been working on back in 2016 prior to the launch of Fortnite. Following Paragon’s closure in 2018, Epic Games released the game’s assets to the public.

Acquired in 2021 and after 4 years of development by Omeda Studios, Predecessor launched in 2024. Now, this latest move cements the studio’s high ambitions for their game as a powerhouse esport moving forwards. Currently, as of writing, the game has over 2 million players across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Find out more about Predecessor on their official website.

Predecessor Championship Circuit

For the moment, the circuit will be centered on competition in Europe and North America and will kick off on May 31st. The central focus for this launch will be to “spotlight emerging talent, foster community engagement, and continue laying the foundation for Predecessor’s growing esports scene.” For all the important dates regarding the Predecessor Championship Circuit, check below:

  • PCC Creator Cup: June 14th-15th
  • PCC NA 2025 Summer Preliminaries: June 21st-22nd
  • PCC EU 2025 Summer Preliminaries: June 28th-29th
  • PCC NA & EU 2025 Summer Finals: July 12th-13th
