PlayTime Will Bring in Abed and Jabz on Games of the Future 2026

After losing a couple of players and their coach after the Esports World Cup 2026, PlayTime stood back up and started preparing for Games of the Future 2026 by bringing in Abed "Abed" Yusop and Anucha "Jabz" Jirawong.

Despite its Tier 2 status, Games of the Future will feature a million-dollar prize pool, will begin on July 31, and end on August 5, a little over a week before The International 2026.

What Happened to PlayTime?

If you are still not aware, PlayTime was eliminated from the Survival Stage at the Esports World Cup 2026 after part of their roster was caught up in an ESIC investigation.

At first, the match against Vici Gaming would be rescheduled, but eventually, ESIC confirmed Oswaldo "DarkMago" Herrera's suspension, and PTime was eliminated without playing.

Standing-In or on Trial?

PlayTime did not clearly say whether Abed and Jabz are on trial or strictly joining as stand-in players. Their Facebook announcement only mentions that they are joining the roster for the Phygital Games of the Future.

Games of the Future 2026 will feature 16 invited teams and will be PlayTime's last chance at a big payout before the post-International roster shuffle, since they did not qualify for this year's edition.

Closing Thoughts

PlayTime has lost important cores at a critical moment, but that also places them ahead of the curve for the post-International roster shuffle. In the meantime, Abed and Jabz get a chance to showcase their skills for scouting organizations while competing for a share of the prize pool at a million-dollar event.
