MIBR has reportedly reached an agreement with Leviatán Esports to acquire Brazilian star Erick "aspas" Santos for the 2025 VALORANT season. According to sources from journalist Bruno Povoleri, the Brazilian organization received a “yes” from Leviatán, paving the way for a transfer that could reshape the competitive landscape in the region.

The deal initially met resistance, as Leviatán was hesitant to part with Aspas under MIBR's initial terms. However, negotiations intensified, and on Saturday, Leviatán reportedly accepted MIBR's revised offer.

Aspas and the “fRoD Factor”

The road is now clear for MIBR to focus on securing Aspas’s commitment to the organization. Notably, the presence of renowned coach Daniel "fRoD" Montaner—who previously coached Aspas at LOUD—has been instrumental in attracting the star player. Sources indicate that the “fRoD factor” played a critical role in Aspas’s interest in MIBR, with their prior connection and trust adding weight to the organization’s recruitment pitch.

Aspas’s anticipated arrival might signify a shift in MIBR’s strategic focus, with the organization prioritizing a lineup rebuild centered around the star. MIBR has reportedly paused roster training temporarily to fully dedicate its resources to the negotiation process, underscoring the importance of this deal. Once finalized, the organization plans to construct a formidable new roster tailored around Aspas’s strengths, which could mark a fresh era for MIBR in the Americas region.

Aspas’s desire to leave Leviatán emerged after internal issues, pushing him to seek a new team in the transfer window. While other organizations, including Singaporean contender BLEED, expressed interest, MIBR’s secured agreement with Leviatán places them firmly in the lead. BLEED, despite coming close to signing Aspas, lost traction after receiving a ban from Riot Games, further strengthening MIBR's position.

As MIBR and Aspas near an official agreement, the Brazilian organization is optimistic about finalizing the deal. If successful, Aspas’s return to a Brazilian team could reignite the fanbase and set the stage for an exciting 2025 season.
