Roberto "erde" Lobos, the in-game leader for LOUD, has become the youngest MVP in VALORANT Champions history. The 18-year-old Chilean received the tournament MVP award on Sunday, October 18, after LOUD defeated Team Vitality 3-1 to win Champions 2026 in Shanghai, China.

The previous record belonged to Erick "aspas" Santos, who was also playing for LOUD when he earned the award at Champions 2022 in Istanbul. aspas was 19 years and three months old at the time; erde won it at just 18 years and eight months.

After receiving the MVP award and lifting the trophy, erde became emotional onstage while speaking about his mother, who had died shortly before LOUD's opening match at the tournament.

erde Breaks aspas' Champions MVP Age Record

erde now tops the list of the youngest MVP winners across the six editions of VALORANT Champions. Behind him are aspas, who won the award at 19 years and three months in 2022, and Aleksander "zeek" Zygmunt, who was 20 years and three months old when Acend won in 2021.

The individual record follows another milestone for LOUD's young roster. Before winning the title, the team had already become the youngest lineup ever to reach a Champions Grand Final. erde and Brazilian teammate Enzo "tkzin" Zimiani are the youngest players on the squad, both aged 18.

In a quote shared by VALORANT Esports Brazil after the final, erde reflected on the ambition he had carried since his teenage years:

"When I was 15, I'd watch the MVPs at every tournament and think, 'I have to be up there.' I started working toward it. It was always my goal."

How Did erde Perform Against Team Vitality?

In the Grand Final against Team Vitality, erde finished the four-map series with 66 kills, 56 deaths and 31 assists, averaging 222 ACS with a 32% headshot rate. The LOUD captain posted a +10 kill differential and recorded 21 kills and eight assists on Omen in the deciding 13-10 victory on Haven.

Across Champions 2026, erde recorded 310 kills, 242 deaths and 158 assists in 18 maps and 398 rounds, averaging 224 ACS. The Chilean split his playing time evenly between Omen and Sage, playing nine maps on each agent.

erde joined LOUD in March 2026 and took over in-game leadership as the organization rebuilt its roster. Seven months later, he is a Champions winner and the tournament's youngest-ever MVP.
