The wait is over! Hearthstone has just launched Patch 34.4, bringing an epic conclusion to the Across the Timeways narrative with the Echoes of the Infinite mini-set. This update brings the ultimate battle between the Bronze Dragonflight and Infinite Dragonflight, and the consequences will reshape the entire metagame.

The Mini-Set That Changes Everything

Echoes of the Infinite introduces 38 new cards to the Timeways expansion, and unlike most supplementary releases, this one fundamentally alters deck-building possibilities through a mechanic never before attempted in Hearthstone: dual-class cards. Yes, you read that correctly. For the first time, players can now build decks that seamlessly blend two different class identities within a single deck.

The dual-class combinations are unconventional by design. You'll see Hunter paired with Warlock, Mage teaming up with Warrior, and Druid joining forces with Demon Hunter. This collision of timelines has literally scrambled class identity, forcing deck architects to think beyond traditional boundaries. The mini-set features four Legendaries, one Epic, seventeen Rares, and sixteen Commons, all available through Across the Timeways packs or as a complete 72-card collection.

The Meta Shift Explained

The central theme powering this expansion revolves around infinite power: a concept reflected in several new cards and mechanics. Morchie, Chromie's mischievous corrupted counterpart, introduces Rewind, a new keyword that lets you reroll the random effect of a card you just played. The twist? Morchie lets you keep both outcomes, essentially doubling your timeline manipulation in a single turn.

Returning keyword mechanics from the Year of the Raptor also make their way back into standard play. Imbue, Dark Gifts, Quests, and other mechanics create synergies that reward players for building around specific themes. The dual-class Quests are particularly interesting: Hunter and Warlock now share a joint Quest that rewards minions like Tick and Tock, drawing you a full hand before erasing your opponent's hand from existence through a Deathrattle effect.

Arena Gets a Seasonal Refresh

Arena players have new reasons to jump back into the mode. The 34.4 patch brings a fresh Arena season powered by the return of Taverns of Time, an Arena-exclusive card set that's been revamped with new time-bending surprises. The updated draft pool now includes Across the Timeways, The Lost City of Un'Goro, Into the Emerald Dream, Caverns of Time, Taverns of Time, TITANS, Voyage to the Sunken City, and the Event set.

One notable change: Imbue has been removed from Priest drafts, preventing the class from becoming overpowered in the Arena environment. Players with ongoing runs when the patch launches will be compensated with a Tavern Ticket, allowing them to maximize rewards by starting fresh.

New Cosmetics: Meet Ysera

Beyond gameplay mechanics, Patch 34.4 introduces Ysera, a new Pet featuring an adorable green dragon design. Unlike static cosmetics, Ysera is fully interactive as she reacts to your gameplay in real time, mimics your emotes, and follows your cursor as you aim spells. The developers even added personality quirks: she'll flutter her wings with joy when you pull off a stellar play, and she loves naps when matches end.

Ysera will appear in Darkmoon Faire Treasures starting January 27 for most regions (January 20 for Mainland China). To help players unlock her three unique skins faster, Blizzard has doubled all Pet XP gains across the entire game. Each Ysera skin (Ardenweald Ysera, Ysera of the Bronze, and Corrupted Ysera) represents a different visual identity, rewarding engagement with the new Pet.

Upcoming Events Offer Free Rewards

Two major events bookend the mini-set's launch window. The Echoes of the Infinite event runs from January 13 through February 3, asking players to complete quests that help the Bronze Dragonflight stop Morchie and Murozond. Completing these missions rewards four Across the Timeways card packs, two random Epic cards from the set, one golden card pack, the End Time Card Back, and an Infinite Coin.

Following that, the Crisis in the Timeways event (February 3–10) doubles down on the narrative stakes. By completing event missions, players earn two more Across the Timeways packs, one random unowned card back from the Year of the Gryphon, Hydra, or Wolf, and the Lunar Lunara Hero Skin.

Bug Fixes and Quality of Life

While the patch list contains primarily gameplay and content updates, Blizzard addressed several longstanding bugs affecting card interactions. Notable fixes include corrections to Green Rafaam's Battlecry description, a Bonelord Frostwhisper mana discount issue that was ending prematurely, and a critical bug where Zilliax Deluxe 3000 failed to restore Health from Lifesteal when using Avatar Form. Additionally, visual effects have been restored for Runi, Temporal Guardian, and several card interaction bugs involving Titans and Deathrattle mechanics have been resolved.

The audio department also received some attention, with missing voice lines for Corridor Sleeper's Dormant Awaken effect and incorrect voice work on the Empress Alexstrasza Mythic Skin now corrected.

Ready For Patch 34.4?

Hearthstone's new patch brings an evolution for Hearthstone's design philosophy. By introducing dual-class cards, the developers are challenging conventional deck-building wisdom and forcing players to experiment with combinations that would've been unthinkable in previous expansions. Combined with the fresh Arena season, cosmetic additions, and narrative-driven events, this patch feels like a natural culmination of the Timeways storyline while simultaneously setting the stage for what comes next.

From experimental deck brews to grinding out Arena runs or chasing the latest cosmetics, Patch 34.4 gives every type of player a new way to mess with time itself.
