It wouldn't be a year in the LEC without G2 Esports hoisting a trophy. Despite all of their struggles early on in the season, the team stampeded through the competition at the 2025 LEC Summer Season, ultimately sweeping Movistar KOI in the finals to return to the throne once more.

G2: The Rightful Kings

With brand new players in the Jungle and Support roles, G2 knew success would not come straight away in 2025. Despite losing the first two splits of the year, the organization did not panic, giving their players the time and space they needed to continue developing synergy. And boy did it pay off.

Once the Summer Season hit, G2 proved uncontainable. Their latest victims? Movistar KOI.

Spanish fans were forced to watch their team get swept live in Madrid, as Elyoya and company simply found no answers to a G2 Esports gameplan that was proactive, precise, and full of surprises.

True to their history, G2 were not particularly interested in playing the meta game. Off the back of picks like Kled, Sett, and Volibear, G2 swept the Grand Finals in just 95 minutes of play. After a brief period of time away from their post, G2 take back their throne after dropping just 2 games through the entirety of the 2025 LEC Summer Season.

SkewMond on the Rise

Rudy "SkewMond" Semaan's first year in the LEC has known one trajectory and one trajectory only: upwards. Though his mechanics were always there, certain aspects of the French Jungler's game certainly needed some polishing to start the year.

Once SkewMond found his footing, however, G2 just couldn't stop winning. To cap off his remarkable growth as a player, SkewMond finished the Grand Finals with a 16/2/28 KDA, earning himself his first Finals MVP in the process.

While SkewMond may rightfully feel on top of the world right now, the rookie and the rest of his squad cannot afford to slow down. Now it's time to set their sights on Worlds 2025, where G2 will show up as the LEC's #1 seed to take on some of the best teams from around the globe.
