G2 Caps Hall of Legends Pass: Best References and Inspiration

Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard Winther is the third inductee into the League of Legends Hall of Legends, following Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao.
His Hall of Legends Pass arrives in-game with numerous references to the iconic moments, people, and memories that have shaped his career. Here are some of the best references featured in the Pass.
Hall of Legends Icons References
MSI 2019 MVP
One of the most obvious yet remarkable references is Caps being awarded the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational MVP title. His performance on Sylas was one of the most iconic of the tournament, showcasing some of the coolest plays of the competition.
These plays were also instrumental in helping G2 Esports progress through the tournament and reach the Grand Finals.
Faker and Caps duo
Caps’ Hall of Legends Pass also features references to another inductee, Faker himself. As two long-time figures of the game, Caps and Faker have faced each other numerous times across different tournaments.
One of the most iconic moments between the two came from a photograph of Faker and Caps posing together, with Caps making a heart gesture. The image quickly became an iconic representation of their history within League of Legends.
Dad Buff
Michael Winters, better known as Caps’ dad, has been a familiar presence at his son’s tournaments, supporting him throughout his career and often taking the time to pose for pictures with fans.
As one of Caps’ biggest supporters, he was immortalized in the Hall of Legends Pass, delivering a heartwarming representation of the importance of family support.
Caps’ dad is also represented in Orianna’s skin through a special animation.
Bald Orianna
Bald Caps has become one of the most popular memes in the community, especially as Caps has gradually lost some of his hair over the years. He first debuted the bald look back in 2021 before growing his hair out again.
As another reference in the Hall of Legends Pass, Caps brought the iconic look back during the LEC Roadtrip in Madrid on September 5.
Caps Picks Vayne Mid
One of the funniest things Caps did during his career was convincing his teammates and coach that Vayne mid was a good idea against Galio. The series was 1-1, and Fnatic needed something different to bring the momentum back, and that's when Caps had one of the weirdest ideas ever.
Dylan Falco, Fnatic’s coach at the time, tried to suggest other options, but Caps was so confident that he could carry the game on Vayne that Falco trusted his instincts and let him lock in the pick. In the end, it turned out great and became one of the most memorable moments of his career.
A Family of Gamers
Gaming runs in the family, as Caps’ older brother was a Dota 2 player long before Caps entered the competitive scene. The funniest part is that his in-game name was Ryze, the same name as the League of Legends champion who would later become one of Caps’ specialties.
Just like his father, Caps’ brother played an important role in introducing him to the world of gaming. He is now immortalized in Caps’ Hall of Legends Pass through a Tristana reference, depicting a young Caps learning to play while his brother, Ryze, guides him.
In-Game References
The Cactus
Another reference to Faker can be found in both his Ahri skin and Caps’ Hall of Legends Pass. Back in 2023, Caps gifted Faker a cactus ahead of the League of Legends World Championship.
The wholesome moment was later immortalized as one of the emotes in Faker’s Hall of Legends skin and is now referenced in Caps’ Pass as well as a ward, celebrating the memorable interaction between the two players.
Caps "Claps"
In-game, Caps’ iconic signature move has become closely associated with the nicknames “Claps” when he plays exceptionally well and “Craps” when he struggles. This signature move will be featured as an animation across all of his skins.
Akali Pentakill
Caps has recorded nine pentakills across various champions throughout his career, but his Akali pentakill at the 2019 MSI Semifinals stands out as one of the most significant. G2 Esports eliminated SKT T1 in the series, with Caps playing a crucial role in securing their spot in the Grand Final.
The semifinal was a do-or-die moment, and this play became one of the defining moments of his career. The 2019 MSI remains G2 Esports’ only international title.
They came close to claiming another at The First Stand 2026, but fell to Bilibili Gaming in the Grand Final. This career-defining pentakill has now been immortalized as an emote in Caps’ Hall of Legends Pass.
From his iconic plays to the people who have shaped his journey, the skins and Hall of Legends Pass offer a fitting tribute to his legacy. The skins and Hall of Legends Pass will be available on September 10.
