FlyQuest and 100 Thieves Battle for the Crown: LTA North Split 3 Grand Finals Preview

The stage is set. After putting up wildly contrasting runs through the bracket, FlyQuest and 100 Thieves are the final two teams remaining in the Elimination Phase of the 2025 LTA North Split 3.
The two teams arrive at the Grand Finals in incredible form, but only one can be crowned the final LTA North Champions of the year. Find out who when the two squads take the stage on Sunday, September 7th, at 1 pm PT/10 pm CET.
FlyQuest Sweep the Competition
Currently, no team in the league seems capable of challenging FlyQuest. In fact, FLY has only lost one game through the entirety of Split 3, arriving at the Grand Finals with an incredible 12-1 game record.
With mid laner Quad coming into the team in mid 2024, the squad has had more than a year to develop synergy, and it shows. With two in-form carries in the mid and bottom lanes, one of the most experienced junglers in the league, and two reliable forms of engage in the top and support roles, this FlyQuest squad is as complete as it gets.
After winning Split 2 back in June, there is little doubt FLY will arrive at these Grand Finals hungry for a repeat.
Out of Nowhere: 100 Thieves
While FlyQuest was busy putting up a flawless run through the Regular Season, 100 Thieves finished the initial stage of Split 3 in joint last place after failing to win a single series. This meant the team had to start their playoffs run in the Lower Bracket, where no one could have predicted what was to come.
Once the Elimination Phase kicked off, an entirely different 100 Thieves showed up. The team brushed past LYON before knocking Team Liquid out of the tournament with a clean sweep. Next, the Thieves denied Cloud9 a ticket to Worlds before completing yet another clean sweep in the Lower Bracket Finals against Shopify Rebellion. While FlyQuest may well be the ultimate boss, the amount of hype and support that the Thieves' run has amassed will serve them will in this final showdown.
After playing more than twice as many games as FLY in these playoffs, though, the question has to be asked: will 100 Thieves start to feel the effects of fatigue before they cross the finish line?
With 100 Thieves already confirmed to be leaving the LTA at the end of the year, there is simply no describing what a win here would mean for all of their fans, players, and staff.
Matchup to Watch: Quad vs Quid
When FLY and 100T take the stage for the Grand Finals, the two team's mid laners will compete not just for the trophy, but also to decide which player chose the superior vowel for his name.
All jokes aside, Quad has been incredibly in-form for FLY, currently leading all mid laners in the Elimination Phase in KDA (5.85), gold per minute (439), and damage per minute (812.9). While this may be in part due to his team's outright domination, there is simply no denying that Quad has taken his game to another level, and will be a dangerous weapon the Thieves will need to watch in these finals.
Quid, meanwhile, may not have the numbers of a superstar (although he is the league's best farming mid laner by a considerable margin), but his presence in the game is felt every time he steps onto the rift. Whenever 100 Thieves need a hero, Quid is quick to don the cape. The young mid laner's growing synergy with River in the jungle has been remarkable to watch, with the two South Korean stars forming one of the deadliest one-two punches in the league.
Whatever happens in these Grand Finals, the match is sure to deliver a spectacle when two of the sharpest mid laners in the LTA North clash for the trophy.
Crowing the Champions
Both FlyQuest and 100 Thieves have already locked their spots at the LTA Championship, where they (and Shopify Rebellion) will take on the best teams from the South Conference for a chance to book their ticket to Worlds. This means that the coming showdown between these two squads is all about one thing: claiming final glory in the North.
