The LCK has seen its first Cinderella story of the year. Against all odds, BNK FEARX (BFX) have become the second South Korean team to qualify for First Stand after putting on a magical run through the 2026 LCK Cup Playoffs.

Now, BFX will take on Gen.G for the second time in a week to decide who gets to lift the LCK trophy as well as earn their region's first seed in Brazil.

BNK FEARX: Giant Slayers

With rosters as stacked with talent as those of Hanwha Life Esports or the reigning World Champions of T1, few could have expected at the start of the season that it would be BFX joining Gen.G at First Stand 2026.

The team's heroic run started in the Group Stage of the LCK Cup, where they finished in first place in Group Elder (where HLE finished dead last). From then on, things would only get better. In the Playoffs, BFX handed T1 a reality check by sending them to the Lower Bracket when no one thought it was possible.

Despite losing to Gen.G in the Upper Bracket Finals, BFX held strong, comfortably sweeping Dplus KIA up next to secure their first ever appearance at an international tournament.

Now, BFX will look to exact revenge on Gen.G in the Grand Finals in search of lifting their first LCK trophy on Sunday, March 1, at 9 am CET.

Diable's Time to Shine

If you've been following the LCK for the past year, then you know just how good BFX's AD carry Nam "Diable" Dae-geun really is. During his first year in the league, Diable sometimes looked like a man possessed, single-handedly winning games for his team.

Though that may have not been enough in 2025, this year is proving to be different already. Diable's calculated aggression and BFX's growing synergy have seen the team's form rise at an incredible rate.

BFX Diable on stage during the 2026 LCK Cup

After outshining players of the caliber of Peyz and Gumayusi at the LCK Cup, Diable's form on the international stage should be exciting to follow. Will he continue to shred through the opposition at First Stand as well, or will the spotlight of international competition prove too much to bear?
