RLCS 2025 - Birmingham Major: Format, Schedule, Opening Matches, and More

The Rocket League Birmingham Major is upon us in 2025. Featuring 7 of the best regions in the world, 16 teams will clash on the 27th of March as the calendar continues building towards the World Championship in September later this year.

With nearly 100 RLCS Circuit Ranking points and $351,000 USD up for grabs, the Birmingham Major stage is set for an epic showdown between some of the best teams in the world.

Teams

Format

The Birmingham Major is separated into 2 stages – the Swiss Stage and the Playoffs Stage. The Swiss Stage will run from the 27th to the 28th in a blisteringly fast 2 days of Bo5s, seeing the 16 teams clash. From there, the top 8 performing teams from this stage will proceed to the Playoffs Stage, where depending on their Swiss Stage performance, they’ll either have a single or two lives to make it to the finals.

Swiss Stage (March 27th – 28th)

  • Swiss System Format.
  • 16 Teams.
  • All matches Bo5.
  • Top 8 proceed to Playoffs.

Playoffs Stage (March 29th- 30th)

  • AFL Final Eight Format
  • 8 Teams.
  • All matches Bo7.
  • Teams placed 5th-8th in Swiss Stage will enter Playoffs with a single life in Lower Bracket.
  • Teams placed 1st-4th in Swiss Stage will enter Playoffs with two lives in the Upper Bracket.

Schedule

Round 1 of the Swiss Stage is set to feature 8 games. However, the exact order and time of the matches has yet to be determined. Following that, a further 4 rounds is set to be played during this 2 day period, with the top 8 performing teams emerging from it.
