BetBoom Team are the FISSURE Universe Episode 4 Champions
After a week of intense matches — and a Dota 2 patch dropping right in the middle of it all — BetBoom Team has emerged victorious at FISSURE Universe Episode 4. This win secures them $250,000 in prize money and restores their confidence ahead of ESL One Raleigh.
Since every Grand Finalist has their own journey, let's take a look at both teams’ paths. BetBoom Team took the easier route through the upper bracket, while Gaimin Gladiators fell in the finals, fought their way back, and set the stage for a best-of-five that was faster than we anticipated.
BetBoom Team’s Journey to the Top
Despite their past inconsistencies, BetBoom Team is undeniably one of the biggest names in 2025. Not only do they remain in the Top 4 of the ESL Pro Tour, but they’ve also added another major tournament victory to their record.
Their FISSURE Universe Episode 4 run started with a tense Group Stage, where they barely scraped through. After losing to BOOM Esports and Team Liquid, they secured victories against M80 and Night Pulse. In the final round, they narrowly eliminated Aurora 2-1, clinching their spot in the playoffs.

Playoffs and Rivals on a Similar Path
BetBoom Team’s playoff run started strong, securing 2-0 wins over Team Spirit and Team Tidebound. Their toughest challenge came in the Upper Bracket Finals, where they had to reverse-sweep Gaimin Gladiators for a 2-1 victory.
Meanwhile, Gaimin Gladiators followed a strikingly similar path. They barely made it through the Group Stage, clinching qualification with a dominant 2-0 win over 1win.
However, their playoff run proved to be more challenging. They battled past Team Liquid and Team Falcons before facing BetBoom Team in the Upper Bracket Finals — a match they lost 2-1, forcing them into the Lower Bracket.
There, Gaimin Gladiators found themselves facing Team Tidebound, a Chinese squad on the rise. While China’s Dota 2 scene has struggled in recent years, Team Tidebound’s impressive performance signaled their possible return to the top.

Lightning-Fast Grand Finals
Contrary to expectations, the Grand Finals ended in a one-sided stomp. BetBoom Team was in complete control, closing out the series wih a dominant 3-0 victory. The longest match lasted only 41 minutes and 29 seconds.
Since signing Alimzhan "watson" Islambekov, Gaimin Gladiators seem to have inherited Team Liquid’s infamous runner-up curse. They remain wildly inconsistent, and when they do reach Grand Finals, they tend to fall just short.
