Top flight VALORANT is set to return to the region that hosted Masters Bangkok when the VCT 2025 Pacific Stage 1 kicks off on Saturday, March 22nd.

There, all twelve participating teams will not only compete for the trophy, but also one of only three spots for the region at the next international tournament: Masters Toronto. With the Pacific growing fiercer by the minute, which teams will make it there?

Let's go ahead and have a look at everything there is to know about the VCT 2025 Pacific Stage 1 tournament.

Format

The VCT 2025 Pacific Stage 1 tournament will take place across two separate stages: the Group Stage and the Playoffs. Here's how each of these will work.

Group Stage

During the Group Stage, all twelve teams that make up the VCT Pacific will divided into two groups: Group Alpha and Group Omega. There, each team will play each other once across a single round-robin, with all matches being Bo3.

The top 4 teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs. The first placed teams from each group will receive a bye into the Upper Bracket Semifinals. Second and third placed teams will head straight to the first round of the Upper Bracket, while fourth placed teams will need to start the Playoffs straight from the Lower Bracket.

Playoffs

The Playoffs will be played across a double-elimination bracket that will see the top 8 teams from the Group Stage battle it out for a shot at the Pacific Stage 1 trophy. All Playoffs matches will be Bo3, with the exception of the Lower Bracket Finals and the Grand Finals, which will be Bo5 series instead.

To end the tournament, the VCT Pacific Stage 1 Grand Finals will take place on May 11th, where the champions will be crowned. It's good to note too that the top three teams from the Playoffs will secure their spot at the next stage of international competition for the start of Masters Toronto.

Schedule and Opening Matches

The VCT 2025 Pacific Stage 1 tournament sets off on Saturday, March 22nd, and will run until the Grand Finals draw to a close on May 11th. During the course of the Group Stage, all Stage 1 matches in the Pacific will be played on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays across five consecutive weeks, with a total of two matches being played per day.

The first match of each day will start at 5 pm KST / 9 am CET, while the second match will take place from 8 pm KST / 12 pm CET.

Day 1 of the VCT Pacific Stage 1 will feature the return of the newly crowned Masters Bangkok Champions in their return to their home league. Here's what you can expect from the opening matches:

DetonatioN FocusMe vs Global Esports [Saturday, March 22nd - 5 pm KST / 9 am CET]

DetonatioN FocusMe roster: Meiy / Akame / Art / gyen / Jinboong

Global Esports roster: kellyS / Kr1stal / PapiChulo / Deryeon / UdoTan

That last time these two teams met, during Kickoff, DetonatioN FocusMe came away with a contested, yet relatively comfortable victory in the end. Though Global Esports will have used their downtime during Masters Bangkok to continue to build synergy with Deryeon on the roster, we don't expect this to be enough to change the result this time around.

T1 vs ZETA DIVISION [Saturday, March 22nd - 8 pm KST / 12 pm CET]

T1 roster: iZu / stax / Sylvan / Meteor / BuZz

ZETA Division roster: Dep / SugarZ3ro / CLZ / SyouTa / Xdll

T1 head into their debut match of Stage 1 holding on to the status of Pacific heroes bringing the Masters Bangkok trophy home for the region. Over the course of a gruesome run on the international stage, T1 displayed a remarkable level of play with their individuals clicking at the perfect time.

Even if T1 are not able to sustain their Bangkok peak, the South Korean team are still the clear favorites to take the win against a ZETA DIVISION squad that will be eager to prove that Japanese VALORANT should not be looked down upon.
