VALORANT Patch 10.0 has barely hit the live servers, and the community has already uncovered a fascinating new bug. This glitch involves Cypher’s Trapwires, which, under certain conditions, can become completely indestructible. Here’s an in-depth look at the mechanics of this bug and how it can be replicated.

Discovery of the Bug

The bug first came to light thanks to X user @draobrevoh, who posted a video demonstrating the glitch. In their clip, Cypher’s Trapwires were placed on the dark portions of the orange Radianite boxes at A Site’s entrance. Attempts to destroy the wires using Sova’s Shock Darts proved futile, sparking widespread interest in the VALORANT community.

Curious about the specifics, we conducted our own tests to understand the bug’s mechanics and limitations.

How the Bug Works

Conditions for the Bug

After extensive testing, we identified two key criteria required to replicate this bug:

  1. Specific Boxes: The bug only works on the orange Radianite boxes found on Fracture and Pearl. Regular green Radianite boxes do not exhibit the same behavior.
  2. Precise Placement: Cypher’s Trapwires must be placed on the grey sections of the orange Radianite boxes. Placing them on borders, other sides, or any other part of the box won’t trigger the bug.

Indestructible to Certain Utilities

When the above conditions are met, Cypher’s Trapwires become indestructible, but only to specific abilities:

  • Sova’s Shock Darts
  • Raze’s Blast Packs

Interestingly, Raze’s Paint Shells exhibit unique behavior. The primary explosion doesn’t destroy the Trapwire, but the secondary splash does.

Utilities That Work as Intended

Most abilities in the game still function correctly and can destroy the Trapwires. These include:

  • Raze’s Boombot and Showstopper
  • Sova’s Hunter’s Fury
  • Brimstone’s Incendiary and Orbital Strike
  • KAY/O’s FRAG/ment
  • Phoenix’s Blaze and Hot Hands
  • Viper’s Snake Bite
  • Killjoy’s Turret and Nanoswarm
  • Gekko’s Mosh Pit

Impact on Gameplay

While the bug doesn’t appear to be game-breaking, it does offer players a minor advantage in specific scenarios. This glitch could see use in ranked matches and other game modes as players seek to exploit it for an edge.

Riot Games is known for addressing bugs and glitches swiftly. Given the nature of this bug, it’s unlikely to persist for long. Players should expect a patch or hotfix in the near future to resolve the issue.

For now, keep an eye out for these invincible Trapwires in your games. Whether you’re looking to experiment with the bug or counter opponents using it, understanding its mechanics will help you adapt until Riot rolls out a fix. Stay vigilant, and don’t be surprised if this isn’t the only bug uncovered in Patch 10.0!

Team Vitality CEO Neo: "For Us to be a Global Leader Means Being a Contender at EWC"

Team Vitality remains one of the most influential and well-known esports organizations to date. Neo provided a ton of insight into the organization's participation at this year's edition of EWC in Paris. He expressed his desire for the org to perform to the highest standards, but also highlighted that rivalry is key to grow the ecosystem. Additionally, Neo gave strong opinions on the growth of mobile esports following last year's Vitality's takeover and merger with Indonesian side Bigetron, stressing the need for innovation and following ideas in the east, as much as the west.
