VALORANT Masters London has officially locked in its playoffs bracket after a dramatic conclusion to the Swiss Stage, where XLG Esports completed a reverse sweep over Global Esports to claim the final spot.

XLG Seal Final Playoffs Spot

The final day of the Swiss Stage delivered yet another heartbreak for the Pacific region. Global Esports fell 2-1 to China’s XLG Esports in a tense reverse sweep, ending their campaign just short of the playoffs. With that result, XLG became the eighth and final team to qualify, completing a stacked lineup heading into the next stage of the tournament.

Masters London Playoffs Format Overview

  • Playoffs run from June 12 to June 21

  • Eight-team double-elimination bracket

  • Four teams qualified via Swiss Stage

  • Four teams enter as International League winners

  • Matches are Bo3

  • Lower Bracket Final and Grand Final are Bo5

Coaches Take the Stage

The Playoffs Draw Show featured Riot admin Nick selecting from the four top seeds: Team Heretics, EDward Gaming, Paper Rex, and G2 Esports. Each team’s coach then chose their opening opponent.

G2 Esports were first on the clock. Head coach JoshRT opted to face XLG Esports, citing familiarity and confidence in the matchup. He noted, “I feel like we have a good matchup. I know their coach and players very well, and I feel like it'll be a good game for us”.

EDward Gaming followed, with coach Autumn selecting FUT Esports. His reasoning was brief, simply calling the matchup “looking fun.”

Paper Rex came next, with coach alecks engaging the crowd before locking in Leviatán as their opponent, adding a bit of flair to the draw process.

The final matchup was decided by default, leaving Team Heretics to face Team Vitality. This sets up a highly anticipated rematch of the VCT EMEA 2026 Stage 1 Grand Final, promising one of the most intense clashes in the opening round.

Team Vitality CEO Neo: "For Us to be a Global Leader Means Being a Contender at EWC"

Team Vitality remains one of the most influential and well-known esports organizations to date. The Paris-based org fields over 20 esports teams in various esports, though their immensely impressive results in Counter-Strike take center stage.  Being one of the organizations present at Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris, we managed to speak with Fabien "Neo" Devide, Co-Founder and CEO of the Hive, just after an interview with Mike McCabe, COO of the Esports World Cup Foundation, at the opening press conference at EWC. Neo provided a ton of insight into the organization's participation at this year's edition of EWC in Paris. He expressed his desire for the org to perform to the highest standards, but also highlighted that rivalry is key to grow the ecosystem. Additionally, Neo gave strong opinions on the growth of mobile esports following last year's Vitality's takeover and merger with Indonesian side Bigetron, stressing the need for innovation and following ideas in the east, as much as the west.
