BLAST R6 Kickoff 2026: Everything You Need to Know
The BLAST R6 Kickoff 2026 is here, and it's unlike anything Rainbow Six Siege esports fans have seen before. This is the first-ever Season Kickoff stage in R6's competitive history, launching Year 11 with a fast, high-pressure sprint that will define the road to the first Major of the season. Get up to speed with on everything you need to know.
What Is BLAST R6 Kickoff?
Kickoff is the opener for the entire BLAST R6 2026/27 season. It replaces the old calendar structure with a condensed, high-stakes stage where every match counts. There's no room to ease into form: teams must hit the ground running from day one, because the smallest slip-up gets punished hard in this format.
The goal? Earn SI Points, prize money, and most importantly, a spot at the BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City, set for May 8–17. Twenty teams from across the globe will qualify through the Kickoff, making these regional battles the gateway to the year's first big international event.
How the Format Works
The format splits across seven regional leagues, and how it plays out depends on how many teams are in each league: 10 or 8.
10-Team Leagues (NAL, SAL, EML, CNL)
The North America League, South America League, Europe and MENA League, and CN League all run with ten teams. Here's the structure:
- Teams are divided into two groups of five, playing a single round-robin in BO1 matches
- After the group stage, the top four from each group advance to a double-elimination playoff bracket
- All playoff matches are BO3
- The top four finishers across the bracket qualify for Salt Lake City
- Group rank determines playoff seeding:
- 1st seeds enter the Upper Bracket Semifinal
- 2nd and 3rd seeds enter the Upper Bracket Quarterfinal
- 4th seeds drop straight into the Lower Bracket Quarterfinal
- 5th place finishers are eliminated
Teams who top their group are just one win away from Salt Lake City, while fourth seeds are already living on the edge in the Lower Bracket from the jump.

8-Team Leagues (APAC North, Asia, Oceania)
These three leagues skip the group stage entirely. All eight teams are thrown straight into a double-elimination bracket with BO3 matches throughout. Qualification spots are distributed as follows:
- APAC North: Kickoff champion qualifies
- Oceania: Kickoff champion qualifies
- Asia: Champion and runner-up both qualify (two slots, earned thanks to Weibo Gaming's dominant Year 10 performance securing the region an extra spot)

When Does It All Go Down?
The action starts almost immediately, with APAC kicking off this week. Here's the full regional schedule:
- APAC North: Every Friday at 13:00, 16:00 and 19:00 JST from March 27th to April 24th
- Asia: Every Saturday at 15:00, 18:00 and 21:00 SGT from March 28th to April 25th
- Oceania: Every Sunday at 12:00, 15:00 and 18:00 AEST from March 29th to April 26th
- Europe and MENA League Finals: Group Stage matches will be played at 17:00, 18:00, 19:00 and 20:00 ET from March 30th to April 8th
- South America League Finals: Group Stage matches will be played at 17:00, 18:00, 19:00 and 20:00 ET from March 31st to April 11th

SI Points on the Line
Beyond Major qualification, Kickoff is also the first opportunity for teams to stack up SI Points, the currency that eventually buys a ticket to the Six Invitational 2027. While the amounts are smaller here compared to the Stage leagues or Majors, every point matters in a long season. Here's how they're distributed per region:
- 1st: 240 SI Points
- 2nd: 175 SI Points
- 3rd: 140 SI Points
- 4th: 115 SI Points
- 5th: 100 SI Points
- 6th: 80 SI Points
- 7th: 60 SI Points
- 8th: 40 SI Points
- 9th: 20 SI Points

No Warm-Ups This Year
The Kickoff isn't just a warm-up. It's a statement. Teams stepping into Year 11 carry the weight of offseason roster changes, new meta reads, and fresh rivalries. A strong Kickoff run sets the tone for the entire year, and a stumble means you're already playing catch-up heading into Stage 1.
With the 2026/27 season being the most stacked R6 calendar to date, featuring two Majors, the Esports World Cup (August 11–14 in Riyadh), and the Six Invitational 2027 scheduled in Brazil, teams cannot afford to sleep through the opening chapter.
