Ghosteyes is a specialized squad within Team Rainbow in Rainbow Six Siege. Created after a major restructuring of Rainbow, the unit focuses on stealth, surveillance, and intelligence.

Led by Taina “Caveira” Pereira, Ghosteyes operates in the shadows. Their role is clear: gather information, act quietly, and handle threats before they grow.

The Origin of Ghosteyes

Ghosteyes was formed after the defection of Nighthaven in early 2022. At the same time, criminal activity increased around the globe. Harry “Six” Pandey responded by reorganizing Rainbow into four squads, each with a specific role.

Ghosteyes became the covert espionage unit. Its members specialize in infiltration, intelligence work, surveillance, and targeted elimination.

The squad’s mission reflects Caveira’s mindset. As she states: “The most insidious enemies have to be met in the darkness where they hide.”

Leadership Under Caveira

Caveira

Caveira serves as both squad leader and symbol of Ghosteyes. Her experience as a covert specialist makes her the right fit for a unit built on stealth.

Ghosteyes does not operate on rigid hierarchy. The squad questions information, reassesses situations, and acts on intelligence that may not have reached Rainbow command.

Their motto captures this approach: “Do all the work, let others take all the credit.”

This mindset separates Ghosteyes from other Rainbow squads. Recognition is not the goal. Results are.

The Purpose of Ghosteyes

Ghosteyes focuses on intelligence and silent intervention. The squad handles operations that require precision and secrecy.

Their core responsibilities include:

  • Infiltration of hostile territory

  • Surveillance and intelligence gathering

  • Covert elimination of targets

  • Preventing escalation before open conflict begins

Ghosteyes acts where open force would create larger problems. Their work often prevents wars, retaliation, and collateral damage.

Operation Brutal Swarm

The first major Ghosteyes mission was Operation Brutal Swarm. It began after Operation Vector Glare, where Wolfguard rescued a Nighthaven engineer known as The Architect.

Caveira assigned Karina “Nøkk” Gaarddhøje to infiltrate Nighthaven’s headquarters in Singapore. The objective was to retrieve data linking Nighthaven to the assassination of Masayuki Yahata.

Nøkk entered the server facility with support from Néon “Sens” Mutombo. During the mission, she encountered Charlie “Grim” Keng Boon. Despite the confrontation, she successfully connected with Sam “Zero” Fisher and escaped by RHIB.

Days later, Grim retaliated. He gathered personal intelligence on Nøkk and threatened her and her family. This event intensified tensions between Rainbow and Nighthaven.

Operation Solar Raid

Operation Solar Raid followed Grim’s retaliation and new intelligence suggesting that Nighthaven was not responsible for Yahata’s death.

Ana “Solis” Díaz infiltrated a Nighthaven helipad where Jaimini “Kali” Shah and Anja “Osa” Jankovic were preparing to deploy forces. Solis revealed herself and informed Kali that she had orders to keep her grounded.

Caveira appeared behind Kali, and QCR Drones emerged from weapon caches. A confrontation broke out. Solis used her SPEC-IO Electro-Sensor to identify the drones, and Rainbow operators destroyed them.

Kali claimed innocence, stating that the weapons used in the assassination were stolen from her company. Solis confirmed Rainbow already knew this. However, they could not allow Nighthaven to launch a retaliatory strike that would cause wider damage.

Ghosteyes captured Kali, Osa, and senior operators. Nighthaven was effectively neutralized for the time being. Caveira then called for Redhammer, a squad designed for heavy combat operations.

Year 8: Joint Operation With Redhammer

Redhammer

After subduing Nighthaven, Ghosteyes supported Redhammer in a mission to destroy a terrorist hive. The terrorists had obtained Nighthaven ordnance.

Caveira entered first to assess enemy numbers and eliminate a target. Captain Jordan “Thermite” Trace led the assault once the breach began.

Zofia Bosak and Seamus “Sledge” Cowden flanked hostile forces. Eliza “Ash” Cohen handled the remaining threats. Caveira reappeared during the firefight, using a fallen enemy as cover while eliminating additional terrorists.

The operation ended with Thermite neutralizing the final hostile.

Footage of the raid later surfaced. Gerald “Deimos” Morris obtained it and presented it to Harry Pandey before killing him.

Year 9: The Emerald Plains Confrontation

Emerald Plains

One year later, Rainbow engaged the Keres Legion at Emerald Plains. Sam “Zero” Fisher deployed alongside Gustave “Doc” Kateb, Julien “Rook” Nizan, and Dr. Elena “Mira” Álvarez.

Doc, Rook, and Mira fortified their position while Zero prepared to flank. Deimos appeared to eliminate the team.

Zero attempted a surprise attack from above. The two engaged in hand-to-hand combat, and Deimos gained the upper hand.

Rook survived a shot from Deimos’ .44 Vendetta due to his protective gear. He then shot Deimos, neutralizing the threat.

This marked a major turning point in Rainbow’s conflict with the Keres Legion.

Full Ghosteyes Operator Roster

Ghosteyes consists of operators skilled in stealth, reconnaissance, and precision tactics. The roster includes:

  • Timur “Glaz” Glazkov

  • Meghan “Valkyrie” Castellano

  • Chul Kyung “Vigil” Hwa

Each operator contributes a specific skill set. Together, they form Rainbow’s primary intelligence and infiltration unit.

What Makes Ghosteyes Different

Ghosteyes

Ghosteyes stands apart from other Rainbow squads because of its method. The unit does not rely on overwhelming force.

It focuses on information, acts before threats escalate, and questions assumptions instead of following orders blindly.

This approach shapes every mission. From infiltrating Nighthaven servers to preventing open conflict, Ghosteyes works behind the scenes.

Their impact often goes unnoticed. That is by design.

The Role of Ghosteyes Going Forward

Ghosteyes continues to serve as Rainbow’s intelligence backbone. The squad handles threats that require patience, secrecy, and control.

As conflicts evolve, covert action remains critical. Intelligence prevents escalation. Stealth limits collateral damage.

Ghosteyes exists for that purpose. When enemies hide in the dark, this squad follows.
