Team Spirit has finally lifted their first CS2 trophy of 2026. In the Barys Arena, they swept the star-studded Team Falcons to win the PGL Astana 2026 trophy.

A Clean 3-0 to Win Back-to-Back PGL Astana Titles

Coming into the Grand Finals, the two squads had displayed some amazing Counter-Strike, setting up for an exciting clash for the trophy.

The series started with Team Spirit’s Dust 2, where Team Falcons got off to a 6-0 start, but Spirit brought it back. The back-and-forth continued in the second half, leading to a tie in regulation. In OT, Spirit dominated the map, winning four straight rounds to go 1-0 up in the series.

The momentum Spirit gained during the Dust 2 OT helped them put on more dominant displays on Mirage and Ancient. While Falcons did put up a strong resistance in the second half of Ancient, Spirit won the final round to win back-to-back PGL Astana titles.

New Challengers Rise

More than Team Spirit lifting the Astana trophy, it was the manner in which they did it that adds a layer of anticipation to the upcoming CS2 Cologne Major. If they can sustain this level—and magixx can continue to grow as an IGL— Vitality could face their toughest challenger to their Major expedition yet.

Falcons may not have delivered on the Grand Finals stage, but they displayed glimpses of their potential under karrigan. As they play more games together, the synergy will develop, and their perfect 2026 win record against Vitality could remain untouched, even at the Major.

Add a resurging FURIA and a NAVI squad that finally slew Vitality for the first time since 2025, and Cologne might just become the best CS2 Major to date.
