With the launch of Operation Twin Shells, Rainbow Six Siege introduces the highly anticipated operator, Skopos, hailing from Greece. Skopos introduces a unique gadget mechanic and powerful loadout that can drastically change the way players approach defense.

This guide will explore everything you need to know about Skopos, from her loadout to effective strategies and counters.

Loadout

Primary Weapon: PCX-33 Assault Rifle

A new addition exclusive to Skopos, the PCX-33 comes equipped with a 31-round magazine and supports only 1x magnification sights, ideal for close to medium-range engagements.

Secondary Weapon: P229 Handgun

This semi-automatic pistol is Skopos' only sidearm and is suitable for backup in tight situations.

Secondary Gadgets:

  • Impact Grenades
  • Proximity Alarms

Primary Gadget: Twin Shells - Talos & Colossus

Skopos’ gadget introduces a revolutionary mechanic with her two humanoid robots, Talos and Colossus. These robots offer both offensive and defensive capabilities and make Skopos incredibly versatile.

Twin Shells Mechanics:

  • Two Robots, One Operator:
    • Skopos can control only one robot at a time while the other remains inactive. The inactive robot takes a defensive stance, deploying a bulletproof shield and a camera for visibility.
  • Swapping Between Robots:
    • By pressing the gadget button, Skopos can swap her control between Talos and Colossus. This "swap" moves Skopos' consciousness to the inactive robot, making the previous robot take the defensive role.
  • "Two Lives" Mechanic:
    • While Skopos technically has two shells, destroying the inactive shell won't kill her. Players can fully eliminate Skopos from the round only by destroying the active robot.
  • Camera Access:
    • Skopos can use the camera of the inactive shell at any time to gain valuable intel on enemy movements, adding strategic depth to her playstyle.

How to Use Skopos

Skopos is one of the most versatile operators introduced in Rainbow Six Siege, capable of filling multiple roles:

  • As an Anchor:
    • Skopos can utilize the defensive shield of her inactive robot as a deployable barrier, similar to Mira’s window but with more visibility. This provides excellent protection on-site while still maintaining valuable intel from her robot’s camera.
  • As a Roamer:
    • Skopos can use her robots to set up strategic flanks. For instance, placing one robot in an obscure location while roaming with the other allows her to ambush attackers during critical moments. If cornered, Skopos can swap to the inactive robot and reposition.
  • As a Flex:
    • Skopos’ ability to swap robots makes her an ideal flex operator, able to anchor down or roam as needed depending on the situation in the round. Her utility allows her to adapt to different playstyles, providing teams with a lot of tactical options.

Skopos Counters

Countering Skopos can be achieved through a combination of EMP disruption and hacking her robots. Some of the key operators that can counter Skopos include:

  • Thatcher:
    • Using EMP grenades, Thatcher can disable Skopos' robots temporarily, preventing her from swapping between them.
  • IQ:
    • IQ can detect the location of both robots using her Electronics Detector, allowing her team to track Skopos more easily.
  • Brava:
    • Brava’s Kludge drone can hack the inactive robot. If not dealt with in time, the robot will overheat and be destroyed.
  • Nomad:
    • Nomad’s Airjabs can be placed near the inactive robot, and will trigger once Skopos swaps, knocking her down.
  • Dokkaebi:
    • Dokkaebi's calls not only disrupt Skopos’ ability to swap between robots but also, like with other defenders, reveal her position via sound cues.

Skopos Operator Pairs

Skopos pairs well with certain defenders due to her unique robot abilities:

  • Smoke:
    • Skopos’ robots are unaffected by Smoke’s toxic gas, allowing for coordinated pushes through smoke clouds.
  • Fenrir:
    • Similar to Smoke, Skopos can operate safely around Fenrir’s FNatt mines, allowing them to control spaces together.

NOTE: Skopos’ robots cannot be healed by Doc, Thunderbird, or protected by Rook armor.

Special Interactions

There are a few special interactions to keep in mind when playing as or against Skopos:

  • Deimos:
    • If Deimos tracks Skopos’ active robot, the tracked location will remain on the map even after she swaps to the inactive one, making her position slightly easier to track.
  • EMP Effects:
    • While Skopos’ active robot is immune to EMP effects, the inactive robot can still be disabled, preventing Skopos from swapping to it.

Final Thoughts on Skopos

Skopos brings an innovative mechanic to Rainbow Six Siege with her Twin Shells. While situational, her ability to control two humanoid robots adds depth and flexibility to defensive strategies.

While she may struggle to fit into the current meta dominated by rigid lineups, Skopos' potential for flanking and site protection on larger, darker maps could make her a powerful operator in the right hands.
