One of North America's most prominent esports organizations could be making a significant expansion into Counter-Strike within the next few years. Sentinels, the Los Angeles-based organization known for dominating the VALORANT scene, is seriously considering entering Counter-Strike 2 as early as 2026.

Speaking in a recent interview with Sheep Esports, Sentinels CEO Rob Moore revealed that Counter-Strike 2 is currently the most discussed potential expansion within the company. Moore stated:

"It's probable that we go in, maybe in 2026 or 2027. But if we do, it will be with a true North American ambition"

Perfect Timing for NA Counter-Strike

The potential entry comes at a crucial time for North American Counter-Strike, a region that has struggled to maintain relevance on the international stage in recent years. Sentinels' involvement could provide the financial backing and organizational expertise needed to revitalize the scene.

The organization already has strong ties to Counter-Strike through several key players in their VALORANT roster, past or present. Stars like Tyson "TenZ" Ngo and Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro both have Counter-Strike backgrounds, while content creator Tarik "tarik" Celik is a former Major champion who competed professionally in CS from 2014 to 2021.

Building on VALORANT Success

Sentinels has established itself as one of the most successful organizations in VALORANT, becoming the first and only team to win two Masters tournaments. The organization is one of just two teams, alongside Fnatic, to claim multiple international VALORANT titles.

Currently, Sentinels maintains rosters in only a handful of esports titles, with VALORANT being their flagship division. However, the organization's success in FPS games positions them well for a potential Counter-Strike expansion.

The move represents more than just another team entering the scene — it could signal the kind of renewed investment in North American Counter-Strike that the region desperately needs. With Sentinels' proven track record in competitive gaming, and substantial financial backing, their entry could encourage other major organizations to follow suit, potentially creating a domino effect that benefits the entire region.

While no specific details about potential roster acquisitions or coaching staff have been revealed, the timeline suggests fans won't have to wait long to see if Sentinels will make good on their Counter-Strike ambitions.
