S1mple and BC.Game Sweep Legacy to Kickoff their IEM Krakow 2026

S1mple and BC.Game Sweep Legacy to Kickoff their IEM Krakow 2026

With Counter-Strike legend s1mple returning to tier-1 play, all eyes were on the Ukrainian AWPer and his new roster at IEM Krakow 2026. And they did not disappoint. BC.Game Esports launched its campaign with a stunning 2-0 victory over Legacy, which featured a first-map comeback from an 11-2 deficit.

This marks the first win for the current BC.Game roster - following consecutive defeats at the IEM Rio 2026 Closed Qualifier - and the organization's first tier-1 match victory.

BC.Game defeats Legacy 2-0 in IEM Krakow 2026

Legacy came out strong on BC.Game's own map pick, Overpass, dominating the first half and leaving s1mple's squad trailing 2-10. According to coach Taz, the crucial failure was a lack of map control. But whatever was said at halftime worked perfectly: BC.Game returned to win nine consecutive rounds on their CT side, forced overtime, and dominated the extra rounds to complete a stunning reverse sweep.

On Legacy's map pick, Inferno, BC.Game faced far less resistance. Carrying their momentum from the dramatic Overpass win, they raced to an 11-1 halftime lead. The victory was never in doubt, and s1mple put the exclamation point on it with a spectacular 1v4 clutch in round 14 to seal the map.

BC.Game secures valuable VRS points ahead of Cologne Major

As Valve Regional Standings (VRS) points are the key to qualifying for most tier-1 events, including the upcoming Major, every team in contention is scrambling to earn them. BC.Game's (#28) victory over the higher-ranked Legacy (#13) is particularly valuable because it was earned at a LAN event, where points are weighted more heavily than in online qualifiers.

BC.Game's next test is against the winner of the FUT Esports vs 3DMAX matchup. Securing a second consecutive LAN victory would not only add valuable VRS points but also solidify their momentum in the race for Major qualification.
