California may be no stranger to wildfires, but the latest fires affecting the Greater Los Angeles area are like nothing we have seen in a very long time. In response to this devastating tragedy sweeping through Southern California, Riot Games has announced a relief fundraiser aimed at providing critical support to all those affected by natural disasters.

The gaming giant has a history of stepping up during times of crisis, and this initiative is no exception. The fundraiser aims to raise funds for local communities impacted by the wildfires, which have caused widespread destruction and displacement throughout Los Angeles. At the time of writing, over 12,000 structures have already been destroyed by the fires in a matter of days.

Wildfire relief in-game fundraisers

Riot Games will be launching in-game fundraisers in their two main titles: League of Legends and VALORANT. Here's how you can support wildfire relief through your favorite games:

  • VALORANT: From January 22nd until January 30th, the latest EX.O bundle will become a Give Back Bundle. This means that from weapons skins and other accessories in the bundle between those dates will be directed to organizations aiding natural disaster recovery.
  • League of Legends: Starting January 23rd and ending on February 5th, Firefighter Tristana will be available in the store once again. All proceeds from sales of the skin will also be directed to organizations with the goal of aiding those affected by the California wildfires.

All proceeds will go straight to the Riot Games Social Impact Fund. From there, the funds will be redirected to organizations aimed at aiding recovery after natural disasters Southern California as well as the rest of the world.
