Ubisoft has unveiled Operation Prep Phase, the first season of Rainbow Six Siege Year 10, introducing the latest attacking operator, Rauora. A former New Zealand Military member, Rauora brings a game-changing ability to the attacking side: barricading doors. With a D.O.M. Panel Launcher, she can control entry points, limit defender rotations, and create safer planting scenarios.

This guide covers Rauora’s loadout, gadget mechanics, strategies, and counters, helping you master her playstyle and make the most out of her unique ability.

Primary Weapons

  • 417 Marksman Rifle: A high-damage, semi-automatic DMR suited for long-range engagements.
  • M249 Light Machine Gun: A fully automatic LMG with a large magazine, ideal for sustained fire and area control.

Secondary Weapons

  • Reaper MK2: A brand-new machine pistol with a red dot sight and extended magazine, designed for high damage at close range.
  • GSH-18: A reliable semi-automatic pistol with a fast fire rate and solid accuracy.

Gadgets

  • Smoke Grenades (x2): Provides cover for planting and executing plays.
  • Breaching Charges (x3): Allows for vertical plays and additional entry options.

Rauora’s Unique Gadget: The D.O.M. Panel Launcher

The Deployable Omnilink Mesh (D.O.M.) Panel Launcher is a device that fires retractable, bulletproof panels onto doorframes. She has access to four panels, which cannot be placed on windows.

How the D.O.M. Panel Works

  • When deployed, the D.O.M. Panel blocks the doorway, preventing movement and line of sight.
  • A red target switch on top of the panel allows operators to interact with it.
  • The target is only visible when an operator is within six meters, forcing defenders to be closer to the door to disable it.
  • Drones can automatically open the panel slightly to pass through.
  • If you are hip-firing, the panel will attach to the first valid doorway.
  • However, if you ADS, it will bypass the first door and lock on to the next available doorway.

How to Use Rauora’s Gadget

Rauora’s D.O.M. Panel offers unique ways to shape the battlefield and execute strategies.

  • Blocking Defender Rotations
    • By sealing off certain entry points, attackers can limit defender movement and create safer execution areas. This is particularly useful in bomb sites with multiple entrances, where defenders rely on rotations to contest plants.
  • Controlling Flanks
    • Defenders attempting to flank attackers will have to destroy the panel, which reveals their position. This functions similarly to Aruni’s Surya Gate, where breaking it forces players to expose themselves.
  • Assisting with Executes
    • When planting the defuser, Rauora’s panels can provide instant cover, preventing defenders from rushing in or shooting through open doors. Smoke grenades can further enhance this setup by obscuring vision.
  • Creating Distraction and Misdirection
    • The panels can be used to fake an execute, forcing defenders to reposition while attackers push from another direction.

Synergies with Other Operators

  • Thermite
    • Thermite’s Exothermic Charge can be placed on a D.O.M. Panel to breach electrified walls near doorways. This trick was highlighted by former beastcoast Coach and Manchester Major winner, Eric "Fettuccine" Tong.
  • Ying
    • Ying, like with most soft surfaces, can attach a Candela to the D.O.M. Panel, triggering a flashbang explosion on the other side of the panel. This can blind defenders on the other side, creating an easy entry opportunity.

Claymores and Drones

  • Attackers can leave a drone near the panel to create foot-shot opportunities.
  • Placing a claymore in front of the panel, then opening it with a drone, can result in easy kills on unaware defenders.
  • This trick can also be used to chuck various grenades under the barrier as well.

How to Counter Rauora

While Rauora is a strong operator, defenders have multiple ways to counter her D.O.M. Panels.

Gadget Disruptors

  • Jäger’s ADS & Wamai’s Mag-NET: Can intercept the D.O.M. Panel projectiles in the air before they deploy.
  • Mute’s Signal Jammers: Placing a panel in the range of a Mute Jammer prevents it from activating.
  • Tubarão’s Zoto Canisters: Can freeze the panel, disabling it temporarily.

Destruction Counters

  • Impact Grenades & Nitro Cells: Can blow open the panel.
  • Melee Attacks & Shooting the Red Target: Defenders can disable the panel by shooting or knifing the target when visible.
  • Oryx: Like any soft wall, Oryx can use his ability to just dash through the DOM Barrier.

Other Behaviours

  • Castle: Since Rauora’s panels cannot be placed on doors with Castle Barricades, defenders can use Castle to block critical entryways.
  • Echo & Mozzie Drones: These drones can also interact with the panel like attacker drones, potentially creating new angles to shoot attackers’ feet.

Final Thoughts

Rauora brings a completely new mechanic to Rainbow Six Siege, allowing attackers to barricade doorways for strategic control. Something that was only available to defenders till now. She is an execute-focused operator, perfect for securing plants, blocking rotations, and controlling flanks.

If you enjoy controlling space, supporting executes, and disrupting defender movement, Rauora is a must-play operator in Rainbow Six Siege.
